America invaded Iraq under the lie that Saddam Hussein was in cahoots with Al Quada and had access to "weapons of mass destruction". Only after that turned out to be blatantly false did America begin waving the flag of freedom and democracy all over the poor, helpless people of Iraq. Americans were stupid for buying into the propaganda to begin with and people like you are stupid for buying into the revisionism now.
I am perpetually bored by the hype that everyone puts behind women and gaming. Humans are humans and females can be just as likely involved in a videogame as males can. This has always struck me as one of those "equal but still special" things that so-called minorities like to flaunt. Now don't take that as misogynic, because it's just the opposite. Women shouldn't promote being pointed out, as they are merely people doing a job that people are expected to do (as opposed to monkeys or something).
Spike is only worth watching Star Trek: Voyager. They have the same odd duality to them that G4 does, where they kinda-sorta want to appeal to real geeks yet can't help but do everything in their power to be just like MTV and wrangle in all of the drunken frat boys who say "That's so gay!" when they get fragged in Halo on their wittle Xbox.
And on that subject, I really miss TechTV (or Hell, ZDTV). I thought it went downhill when Patrick Norton came onto the Screensavers... Boy, what I wouldn't give to have those disappointments back.
No, I'm "whining" because I can't just purchase the products. I have to buy into some watered down form of money and then exchange it for said products. This forces me to buy more points than I would want to use at any given time, thus actually making me less likely to shop more frequently. That is precisely why I haven't bought anything outside of the Opera Browser, despite being interested in at least a few actual games.
While I love the Virtual Console, the bulk points system is broken. It's deliberately setup so that you always either have too few or too many points. For example, I bought 1,000 points. I grabbed the Opera Browser for 500 and then was going to get Super Mario Bros. - The Lost Levels with the other 500. It turns out that The Lost Levels cost 600, as opposed to the 500 that every other NES game does. This is probably due to it kinda-sorta being an import, but still ridiculous. So I think, "no problem, I'll just get 1,000 more points and then grab an N64 game as well". That was before I realized that Pokemon Snap is 1,000 points in itself. This puts me in an awkward spot. I have 500 points sitting around right now and would like to get The Lost Levels. To do so I need only 100 more points. I can only get a minimum of 1,000 at a time however, so I'd be left with 900 points at best. Unless I spend that on some crappy NeoGeo game, I'll be left with spare points forever! I'd much rather just buy the titles themselves, not bulk points that will hopefully even out in a purchase.
He did what needed to be done, even if it was for the wrong reason. Putting violent criminals and repeated offenders behind bars is a waste of money and a burden upon society. Releasing them afterwards is an even worse move.
West, is that you? I thought the lieutenant had killed you! Remarkable. We should get together sometime soon, I have unfettered access to Miksatonic's medical facilities nowadays...
The only real deciding beef (the videogame thing is small) that I have against Hillary is that her plan for so-called healthcare is the most absurd, stupid, and ridiculous thing ever. Of course, she covers what she thinks in a lot of political doublespeak as any electable politician would, but on that issue she certainly can't just come out and say "I'm going to make health insurance mandatory. You all know how well that works with car insurance, right?". That kind of thing is not helping America, it's just feeding into the mega corporations more.
Of course, it's likely going to come down to her and Giuliani (yeah?), so there's not much of a question over who should be president in that case. I just wish the media would stop portraying Kucinich as a joke so that Americans could actually listen to his positions.
Now I haven't played anymore of Bioshock than the demo, so I don't know just how "accessible" it is. The thing is though, "accessibility" has this tendency to destroy FPS/RPG hybrids in particular. You need look no farther than Deus Ex 2 or Oblivion to see these downfalls. I don't find it elitist either, as not all games should appeal to a broad audience. I can't find a flight simulator that I'd enjoy playing in a million years, but I know the people that like that genre like it precisely because you have to map out three hundred different buttons to play, not because it's accessible. And yes, in many cases accessible DOES mean dumbed-down. All of the failed game mechanics mentioned can be at least partially because of their multiplatform status (console vs. PC). That's not a line to toe with first person perspective play, as console are vastly inferior in that regard (except, maybe the Wii).
They obviously know of the Martian cities that litter the planet's surface and are thus protecting their own interesting, seeing as all of Congress are alien clones.
World of Warcraft is the biggest name out there precisely because it is fun for a lot of people with multiple playing styles. Grinding with an ax wielding warrior or grinding with a magic user?
You mean like a patch? Wow, you're telling me that developers sometimes release fixes and/or add small features to their games after release and that they can be obtained for free? That is awesome! I hope all companies see this interesting new business model, as I think it could really catch on!
I found a Wii just last Sunday. That was after a week of calling around and pining down shipping dates at stores. All I had to do after that point was get to the store when it opened, not wait in line all night or anything. Then again, I wasn't getting one "for Christmas". I was getting one because my I found enough lead way in my finances to allow it. Anyone that feels the need to celebrate some charlatan's supposed birthday in a fit of consumerism probably doesn't deserve on anyway...
No, seriously! I can't count how many fairly obscure, independent bands I've come across and learned to appreciate while downloading more popular stuff. I've bought many of said bands' albums years later after listening to a small, questionably obtained selection. It's not that different than listening to the radio, except that there are no commercials and the same string of tracks aren't played at a scheduled time each day!
I was about to mention such, but saw that you already had. However, I wouldn't think that Rope itself is exhausting to watch. For the most part, I don't think that it is even too noticeably different unless you go into it expecting as much. Of course, given a different plot, one continuous scene may become tiresome. That said, I do think Rope is one of Hitchcock's best and is certainly personal favorite of mine. I'd recommend it to anyone, whether as a study in technique or just for the enjoyable characters and their interaction.
Would the robot have a "safe word" or would you just have to clap three times to stop it?

Heh, I got Games & Theory...

I just glad that it didn't get lost in the Delta Quadrant as well!

Opera for the Wii was only free up until sometime last spring. After that it became 500 points in WiiWare.

A lot of the examples given sound like a lack of will power to me; alcoholism, gambling, etc.
Fools!!!

The local fire station for where I work? Who cares, let the place burn! HAHAHAHA!
Maybe she should consider getting a gun instead of leaving the entirety of her safety up to a telephone and its ability to contact some piggies.

While I wouldn't know about the band's effectiveness while under the influence of drugs, I am particularly fond of Animals. ;)
