    That's what the author said, but I don't think there's much truth to it. Yes, a lot of us are socialized to want competition, but is it really what we want, or just what we were taught to want? I rode that bandwagon into my thirties before I realized what a lousy ride it was, and then I got off. I'm much happier since.

    Into your 30s, and you don't have kids, obvoiously, which is sad. If you'd ever seen the way little girls and little boys play together you'd understand that it has very little to do with nurture. Little boy play is competitive, little girl play is cooperative and egalitarian. And that's in mixed households where you can't even say that the toy choice forced it upon them.

    2: The iPhone 6 SE is pretty much an iPhone 5S. It is smaller, but not really groundbreaking.

    But it IS groundbreaking as the first apple phone to get smaller instead of bigger. I, personally, am fucking sick of two-hander phones. I'm actually an apple hater and I think this was actually a good idea. That being said...why does every product brought to market HAVE to be groundbreaking? Why can't they just make a product that people want to buy? Cuz let's be honest...nothing apple does is ever groundbreaking, they just repackage everyone else's ideas and market it better.

    Social and financial pressure to agree (or at least pretend to agree). Everyone is now too concerned about "getting Eich'ed" to take a stand against any of the typical left-liberal talking points. So, of course, the same left-liberals are going to harp on the consensus that they willed into existence through terror to defend their righteousness. In the end, they might be right...maybe. But undoubtedly the way the treated people on that road makes them pieces of shit.

    They're Republicans. Evidence isn't necessary, only hand-waving and dire predictions. The Chicken Little Party is entirely in the pockets of big business, and will do and say whatever is necessary to please their corporate overlords, even if it directly contradicts all available evidence.

    Canada pay an average of about half as much in taxes (scaled to their income), for the same quality and the same service.

    From what I've heard about medicine in Canada from locals, this is laughably untrue. Only someone who has never had more than a minor boo-boo could claim the service is the same.

    It makes no difference if the victims are disproportionately any group; it would have to be UNIQUE to that group. Otherwise, if it's bad for people, it's bad for people, and no distinction need be made about age, gender or any other subgroup. It's not equality if we only consider some of the people, is it?

    It's cute that you think it works that way. Guarantee'd if it was predominantly men, or hell even an equal split, that suffered from this.. not even Franken would care.

    But most people I have worked with become useful and resourceful in their early 30's, not at the age of 22.

    This isn't about the age of the individual, but the complete failure of the higher education system. Raises the question what the fuck you're actually paying for too. *That's* the real end of college: the value derived isn't worth the pricetag any longer.

    the stock market, actually, makes a shit litmus test for the health of the economy anymore. At least in a vacuum. Why? Because the entire market is overvalued thanks to a supply gap of securities created by 401k plans. The government has blessed the market as *the* retirement savings vehicle of the middle class, and now there aren't enough securities to meet the demand that this has created.
