I think I meant Japanese cars more than anything when I made that comment. Plus Toyota's are more American than any American domestic production car. Toyota's are about 90% made in the states. Where as the big three are allowed to outsource.
Might I add, that even if you could blame inflation there is a worse problem. I have not seen average salaries change much in the past 3 years. In the 70's you would be doing a job that paid 50k per year and be well off. The same exact job still makes 50k per year. Human's are devalued. We aren't worth much anymore. The cost of things to buy goes up and what we earn stays the same over time. In the 70's the only thing you needed to get a load on was a house, which is like buying a car now.
So even though the price of games has stayed between $30 - $60 since the 80's effectively devaluing the games, they are still not cheaper than before. Its not just a percentage of your salary. Its the percentage of expendable salary. When people are making payments on the house, car(s), kids, food, and other necessities first the leftovers are a lot smaller to work with than it was back in the day.
Uh dude the artists have been fucked all this time. That's not out of the norm. Big business is all about making people do hard work, not paying them their worth and reaping the profits.
The internets actually give power to the artists. Allowing to sell their product directly. For example if I were a band and I put my record out on the nets for pay. If I charged only a dollar for the whole album I would probably make more money than if I were signed to a record label. And not risk potentially having to pay the label because CD sales less the cost of advertisement ended up being negative!
what about first gen ipod? if all you need is a headset then why doesn't it work on the first gen? Is the first gen jack not capable of using that type of plug?
actually its the speed of input vs the speed of displaying it on the screen. You actually need sound to play rock band. You just push the buttons when you are told to.
yea but eye candy is what people like! Car analogy: You don't need shiny rims for your car (and in some cases they can make your car slower depending on weight and size) but just having the shiny makes you enjoy your ride a bit more. (yes people are stupid but aesthetics matter)
true peace (which i see as impossible unless certain technologies are developed) comes from infinite resource. If there were unlimited supply of stuff we wouldn't have to fight over it! And everyone would be happy. Mind you, replicators are included in the list of tech that needs to come to fruition.
seriously, I mean, how did we all learn how to do computer stuff? take a class or something!!? hah! It's all through curiosity and tinkering. You don't learn till you try. Well, I guess a class or a degree is nice to learn programming and systems more in depth but you get the idea.
This is what annoys me with a lot of people I meet. They don't generally have inquisitive minds. Even a little curiosity would help. If something doesn't work they don't go and try to figure it out. In your wiper example, wouldn't it occur to you that the manufacturer would give you control over the wiper? It's legally required that all vehicles' wipers automatically wipe at a certain bpm. The reaction to not knowing how to do something should be to figure it out, not just leave it be and pretend it didn't happen! cry.
Then please allow me to elaborate on my comment. I do still think business doesn't play fair. What I see as 'fair' is different than gaming the system with lawyers and such to gain an advantage through the system's faults rather than on meeting a customer with a product or service competitively against other businesses.
Seems to me corporate America is all for the free market economy except when it's not to their favor.
Since when does corporate America follow some sort of ideology? It's in favor of business to never play fair. Being unfair is inherently to your advantage!
Well, I would like to see what MS would do if people put that they are gay on their live profiles en mass. Would they ban thousands of customers?
oh that's what happened... dramaaaaaaaa!
Is HP one of MS's partner companies?

or the joy of a car that works, and is easy to work on.

And some after I've picked up and have said hello 10 times! jerks!
Also with flash right into a mirror.

i notice, against all effort with the Live branding, that MS cant shake the hotmail branding at all.

There is only one outcome: Going into OVERDRIFT! Taking it to the D-Dimension!
OVER 9000! that can't be right!

is there an awards ceremony for the best threads of the year? There should be.

and Canadia.
Killing over a copy of a violent videogame is no different than killing over The Holy Grail.
that sounds about right.
somebody is watching a little too much Dexter. :)

You go find the person who did it and make sure he never does it again.
Batman can also make sure that person never does it again either ;p
