I am enjoying your definition of what is evil. In this way corporations such as Microsoft truly are evil as they know full well what they are doing and have an amoral intent.
of course it's not clear. When people speak of "morals" there is nary a definition of said morality. Even though morality does refer to the code of ethics based on the societal norm in this modern internet age the lines blur of what society is as many cultures with their own morals are meeting all over the internets. So at this point I think morals should be defined by the individual to an extent. Beyond murder, theft and deceit it could possibly be open game. Going back to the quote in the post, where he says "but acts based upon his code of ethics" assumes that morality is defined by the individual and that the individual is correct in deciding what is right or wrong. In this case the individual is in the right. If he perhaps believed he was right and just in stealing (maybe that stealing is a normal function of life) then he would be right and just in his own code of ethics but amoral based on the rest of society. anyway enuff speaks!
i believe the stigma is built on lies and a desire to tear down the individual. Look at world of warcraft. Content-wise very similar to D&D. You have magic, monsters and the like but less imagination. D&D is all imagination. think about it.
guys will read soap opera emo trash, if you wrap it up in political intrigue. If you have read tale of genji you will see that essentially one of the first illustrated books(or scrolls) was total emo drama just with politics and stuff.
I participated in the FIRST comp all 4 years of high school. It was pretty fun to work on design and construction but really all the kids on our team knew that it was all about getting to go on trips during the school year for regionals and finals.
Yea but you forget, some people don't wanna make a movie. I didn't say it was gonna make the movie making process any easier. I am speaking from a financial waste position. So much money could be saved and in turn could be used to pay people(writers) more adequately.
doesn't he realize that the people he alienates aren't kids. That practically everyone that grew up during the 80's is old enuff to understand how much of an idiot he is? That by attacking video games he attacks an entire generation.
getting together a production company isnt as difficult or costly as one might think. If you just walk on a set you will see the amount of waste going on. Actors dont have to be treated better than anyone on set and have gophers at their every beck and call. If you are frugal about it a film can be made rather cheaply (relative to current production costs). Also every movie doesnt have to be an insane blockbuster. If there is some good writing a movie can be carried on its character interaction alone. But it seems that the industry as a whole cant think of anything new so they just remake old movies/tv shows/books/comics etc. A group that just gets back to the basics of film making, I think, can really make a difference in the way things are done.
the problem is does it really cost more to produce a good song? I mean you can write one song just as you write another. I mean some genre's of music would be harder to write because they require great classical knowledge or whatever. But an awesome punk song is just as easy to write as a shitty one. It's only 3 chords ever! So putting shitty songs with one good track on an album is confusing to me!

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
That is good! That is good!
Either that, or there is a real problem with our copyright law.
I was about to say that:\
People seem to forget that laws were made for men and not that men are born into laws. Anyway everyone should know that when a business deal is one sided theft will occur. This is especially true with digital media since a physical object isn't stolen. I think it's natural to have a bad feeling when you take a physical resource from someone but when it is just knowledge or data then the logical connection isn't there probably.
For me one of the noticeable points lacking in the gimp are live previews of effects. Its just convenient to see what will happen to the whole image when you are working with it. Also the UI needs two things: redundant access points to some of the tools(right click for a function as well as it being buried in menus); a better organization of toolbars and menues to make access to commonly used functions to be easier to get to. Also a context sensitive toolbar to access functions that you would need for what you are working with would be nice.
Even though acrobat is a resource hog it seems to handle large files fairly well, as it was probably spec'ed for. My friend wrote a book and sent it to me to check. He unfortunately sent it to me in an office doc. I opened it and after god knows how long 275 pages loads. I used acrobat to convert it to pdf and it opens just as fast as acrobat opens a smaller file. But of course there are other lighter readers.
I still don't get why people still call the whole computer the hard drive! it makes no sense! Also these same people refer to uploading as downloading! And its not just old people!
I can finally marinate my bronto burgers and stego steaks in their own stock!
a tricorder must be developed.

well if we are going that route then I was testing to see if the armor for my robot was real Gundamanium but sadly it was not sparking brilliantly :(
Nintendicite mining has slowed down this year. Unfortunately all wii's run on this magical mineral.
