    In Eve guilds and alliances are like corporations, complete with stocks. This was like a hostile takeover, with the victor liquidating BoB's assets.

    Dont forget the UN and every other country in the world that invaded Iraq with the US, not due to WMD's, but due to Saddam not allowing UN weapons inspectors in.

    Is that why the UN inspectors had to evacuate Iraq before we started bombing?

    What FISA crap? FISA has been around for decades. The problems came when the president decided he no longer needed FISA approval. Restoring FISA's oversight, even with loosened rules is a net positive for this country.

    Apple has a limited set of hardware they need to target, and Linux/BSD have communities of millions dedicated to reverse-engineering, writing, and testing drivers. Windows has no such community and no limited set of hardware to target. Even if it did have people to write the drivers, it has no easy mechanism for approving of/ distributing them.

    You can install alternative file browsers. A file browser isn't an OS feature, it's a bundled app.

    No one really likes DRM however there is little effort on the Anti-DRM Camp to come up with a solution that fixes the companies problem, of illegal piracy, or sharing a copy with your friends.

    I have a solution: don't worry about things you cannot control.

    So being born gives you rights? What about premature babies? Why shouldn't babies of the same age that were not born early have the same rights? If they should get rights, then obviously they get rights before they are born. When is that, and why? Things are not as simple as you'd like to think.

    The only benefit of FAT32 is compatibility. exFAT does not have that.

    Today's Daily KDE4 WTF: My clock has two lines. The first line is the time, in military time -- 08:31. This works fine. The second line is the date: Tue, 27 Jan. It might be 27 January, but I can't tell, because the T and half the u in Tue, and most of the n in Jan, are cut off.

    That's nothing. What will really make you scratch your head is when you try and fix it by changing the font, and only the time's font changes, not the date.

    Well bully for you. I on the other hand make a whooping ~$30,000 and between income/social security/medicare and state/local taxes I'm paying nearly 30% of my income out in taxes.

    You should move to Canada. The federal tax rate on the first 38k is only 15%. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/fq/txrts-eng.html I haven't looked up provincial rates, but I kind of doubt they are higher than the federal rate. They seem to be making up the difference by having a federal sales tax (~12% combined federal and provincial, depending).

    Windows XP costs If Microsoft really is making 75% margins, given most OS sales are discounted OEM sales, $5 is probably not far off form the actual cost.

    Can you give an example of this government control and loss of freedom in, for example, Canada? And can you explain why they have about the same taxes (I'll give you a hint, the last people they invaded was US.)
