*looks at prop8 in california, all other anti-gay legislation, anti-abortion laws*
And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Christians have been trying to push their morals and beliefs down the throats of everyone in the US for centuries.
One of the more amusing moments of my time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant was when I caught 3 students working together in a class where no collaboration was allowed. The sad thing is that in this particular class, there was only one correct way of doing the assignments, so anyone who did it correctly could not be caught. These three had such a horribly wrong answer that there was no way that 3 independent people could have gotten that answer.
Yes, because everyone has so many options for internet. In most areas you generally have one option for broadband. One. If that option is comcast...you get comcast, or you have dial up and are only able to check your email.
So many anti-government/super-capitalist people say that the market will take care of itself, but it doesn't. The cost of entry into the ISP market is too high, and even if you can afford the initial cost the big companies will do everything they can to bury you so deep they would need a drilling team just to find your company.
I dislike the government as much as anyone, particularly their views on "piracy"...but I don't really see what is wrong with this law. It prohibits P2P software from being installed without your consent, and forces that P2P software to tell you what it is sharing with other people. How are these bad?
I believe they tried by giving the telcos lots of tax breaks and money to improve the broadband network...but attached no strings to it, so the money just went to their exec bonuses and never went to the broadband network.
Are you implying that the republicans are better than the democrats at balancing the national budget? Because to my knowledge the last time the national budget was balanced was under the Democrats, and the republicans under Bush and co. just added more and more to the national debt with their expensive and never ending wars in the middle east.
Just a quick note: You try living in the middle of nowhere in Iowa where the roads are poorly plowed if they are plowed at all, and drive anything except a 4WD SUV or truck. You can join the rest of the people in the ditches on the side of the road.
Blizzard required the person who made wowglider to pay them the money he had made off of their product, after he insulted them in every way he possibly could. They were unjustified how?
You have evidently never been to Japan, or even paid any attention to music in Japan.
In Japan there are many places to rent cds, and it is pretty much a given that the people who rent them are going to rip the cd or copy it. This has quite a bit to do with the cost of cds in Japan. Although it is a bit of a chicken and the egg scenario...did cd costs go up because of this, or did high cd costs cause it?
Actually, I would think that a more split congress would result in more pork as the party that introduced the bill has to bribe the members of the other party to support it by letting them put more pork in it.
Also, do a whois on asus.co.uk. While it does say that the owner is Asustek computer, it is registered as an individual, not a company, and was registered through a cheap registrar, and if you get the ip address is hosted through a regular web host, NOT asus's servers. Not at all suspicious
Which has been repeatedly proven to NOT be asus's UK web site, but is yet again probably a fake. The correct Asus UK site is uk.asus.com. Do a whois on asus.co.uk.

I got a vasectomy shortly after I got married. Should our marriage be invalidated because there is no way for it to lead to a biological family?

Or she could get a netbook. For a fraction of the price.

Any attempts to use certain words over airwaves is fined very heavily by the FCC.

Not 100% sure, but I believe any attempt to circumvent DRM technology, for any reason, is a violation of the DMCA.
Japan has 1Gbps internet. I had it when I lived there a few years ago. Even at 100Mbps we would be way behind.
I believe they tried by giving the telcos lots of tax breaks and money to improve the broadband network...but attached no strings to it, so the money just went to their exec bonuses and never went to the broadband network.
You are very wrong. "We are Legion" means more "We are many and we are one". It is a reference to the demon Legion in the bible.

You apparently weren't in Japan in your visit to "Asia". Here is a hint: Asia is a very big place, with many different cultures.
