anyone heard about Sony suing Nissan for providing cars with a competitive player?
Exactly. The whole 'bundling' deal lead to them having a monopoly on pretty much everything desktop-related (internet browsing, media players, etc.) because there WAS no competition. OEMs weren't allowed to bundle additional software with Windows, or they'd lose their licenses to sell Windows entirely. Hence the original fines and anti-trust accusations.
But, more specifically, you're running Debian Sid, which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Ubuntu seems to have done a pretty good job of stabilizing Sid for the everyday user.
Once they implement LVM/volume encryption into the Ubuntu installer, I may consider using it on my desktop at home. I want/home encrypted at the very least because that's where irssi/gaim logs are stored, and I'd rather not have a malicious person with physical access to my machine be able to get those logs. (short of rootkitting the system that is)
Half Life was far more immersive than Half Life 2.
Unfortunately, it's quite aged now, and the younger generation will have trouble putting the graphics aside to get at the amazing gameplay and storytelling.
I'd be happy to see full Broadcom card support... I realize that Broadcom chipsets are shitty, but the overwhelming majority of systems I see are using them.
I actually bought an Atheros-based PCI-E wifi card for my laptop, because I knew I'd never get the Broadcom one working properly in Linux. Madwifi seems to work well enough, though.
Being controlled by my Wii.

Thanks. I was searching for "mediadefender"; I guess that's why I didn't see it.
How do you 'accidentally' block a site nationwide? Does Iran only have 1 ISP or something?
Anyone have a link to the Gnutella database torrent? I only saw the email and phone call torrents on TPB.
ISPs are gonna love this, since they're big fans of P2P as it is (Bittorrent and friends).
"Yes, I bought your Colgate toothpaste, the one with tartar control, and it made me feel... LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT!"

Why hasn't someone diff'd the files that were updated and dived into the disassembly and checked to see what was actually changed?
Would be more informative than bitching about it...

Tried searching Google for "Tiananmen Square"?
It's a kdawson story... he just randomly clicks 'accept' without even looking at them.

The company discussed here left a few friends of mine stranded as well.
You get what you pay for.
It might be worth worrying about if L0pht was still active... they haven't done a damn thing in years!

If this were on 4chan, nobody would give a fuck either.
I think you meant "I'd be in business".
Most people don't pirate movies.
Agreed, considering the NSA standard for data wipes is 7 random passes...
I'm more comfortable using this though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutmann_method
They could have leaked their own code and claimed that large portions of it needed to be rewritten for security reasons again...
#fortune goes in all fields!!!
Perhaps you mean... Iceweasel?
