    Exactly. The whole 'bundling' deal lead to them having a monopoly on pretty much everything desktop-related (internet browsing, media players, etc.) because there WAS no competition. OEMs weren't allowed to bundle additional software with Windows, or they'd lose their licenses to sell Windows entirely. Hence the original fines and anti-trust accusations.

    But, more specifically, you're running Debian Sid, which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Ubuntu seems to have done a pretty good job of stabilizing Sid for the everyday user.

    Once they implement LVM/volume encryption into the Ubuntu installer, I may consider using it on my desktop at home. I want /home encrypted at the very least because that's where irssi/gaim logs are stored, and I'd rather not have a malicious person with physical access to my machine be able to get those logs. (short of rootkitting the system that is)

    Half Life was far more immersive than Half Life 2.

    Unfortunately, it's quite aged now, and the younger generation will have trouble putting the graphics aside to get at the amazing gameplay and storytelling.

    I'd be happy to see full Broadcom card support... I realize that Broadcom chipsets are shitty, but the overwhelming majority of systems I see are using them.

    I actually bought an Atheros-based PCI-E wifi card for my laptop, because I knew I'd never get the Broadcom one working properly in Linux. Madwifi seems to work well enough, though.
