Apache generally ships (on most distros) with TONS of modules enabled... kill off any unneeded modules (come on, how many of you actually use mod_userdir or mod_rewrite?), tweak your MPM settings, and be done with it.
I also force PHP to run in FastCGI mode, that way I can use suExec with it to prevent exploits in PHP itself from allowing the entire system to be compromised. Apache suid()s itself after handling the request, but the Apache user can generally write to a few good places, therefore I use suExec.
I know that certain companies like Cingular (now ATT) let you send text messages to people via email... e.g. theirnumber@my.cingular.com or something similar to that.
Don't most of these companies charge on incoming messages, too? Wouldn't you just be able to spam the crap out of somebody's number to run up their bill?
In any other industry, I'd expect them to have this base covered... but you never know with the phone industry.
So basically, now they also make a CRC/md5 checksum of the video and store it into the database?
Genius.
Considering this should have taken all of 20 minutes to implement site-wide, I don't see why this is really news-worthy! It'd be easily bypassed anyways...
If you're going to be a pro Slashdotter and not read the article, at least read the headline so that the comments you post actually make *SENSE*.
... and /b/
I always said Fallout had an accurate prediction of how the world would end...
Stephen Colbert would make an interesting host
From the FAQ (http://slashdot.org/faq/tags.shtml):
Tags are space-separated. Use "bigbrother", not "big brother".
Why not be more involved in your kid's life rather than pushing the responsibility off onto other people?
Your arguing point has been utterly destroyed (even on this site) MANY times.
Also, see http://news.com.com/8301-10784_3-6139030-7.html. People have tried, and failed.
Is that you, Jack? I didn't know you posted on /.!
The intro would be pretty boring aside from the bass guitar, but I suppose it wouldn't be much worse than Carry On Wayward Son was...
Could they have picked a worse Iron Maiden song?
Number of the Beast? Wasted Years? THE EVIL THAT MEN DO?
C'mon, seriously.
More like 'Vicodin'

He didn't go "all in" on Novell stock.
Are you kidding? Some day, all this RDRAM is going to be worth a *fortune*!
It's possible to be "legally blind" if you have extremely poor vision in the United States, too.
That does bring up an interesting possibility though.
IBM hosts *many* technical articles on just about everything.
Most Linux users do not evangelize Linux and would prefer that the unwashed masses stick with Windows.
What do you mean by titles? More distros? More OSS programs in general?
The fact that Dell is now shipping a couple of machines with Ubuntu (if the customer chooses) is completely irrelevant.
You can use Control-W to close windows.
Control-W also closes most dialog windows on Windows, GNOME/KDE, etc.
Have you been living under a rock? It was announced that it would be for PC since E3 last year...
He wants to know WHICH versions of Windows are supported, e.g. does it use DirectX 10 only? (forcing it to run on Vista only)
I don't think that word means what you think it means.
>just shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Props for Pink Floyd reference
Cowboys from Hell/Bark at the Moon from GH1 is waaaaaaay harder than Hangar 18/Free Bird in GH2.
Honestly, once you have hammering on/pulling off (and the inherent sweeping) down, GH2 is cake. The only hard song is Psychobilly Freakout.
Maybe I'm better at GH2 because I play real guitar... ?
... it can still be rootkitted.

What next? They'll blame all the dupes on SQL injection, too?
