The earthquake epicenter was about 125 km from the plant.
Taking into account that there are more than 50 reactors in Japan,
it would be quite probable for the impact to be much worse.
It definitely feels faster than the other major browsers
I have the opposite experience: It feels slow for me.
I tried Opera just yesterday after the launch the beta. And reaction time for scrolling the window feels slow, at least considerably slower than FF.
When I scroll the slashdot page up/down in Firefox it feels instantaneous. In Opera I first see the scrollbar move then there is a half-a-second delay before the rest of the page moves.
The flash player is a much simplified subset of the whole shockwave, so for pages that require application/x-director there is still nothing for Linux, not even 32bit...
Most of the population doesn't know what its about. The only thing they know is that US things were good at some point, so this is a good enough motivation for any new laws.
This is the kind of world we live in...
Gmail claims to support IMAP, but if you try really using it, its awful.
Eg deleting an email from my mail client inbox only removes it from the Inbox label, it still stays in AllMail. And deleting from AllMail is impossible, the email reappears in thunderbird in a minute or two. Deleting attachments doesnt work. Etc.
I understand they want to keep my data as long as possible and also that they want to make IMAP work with their Labels, but I don't care I just
want an IMAP compliant email account...
It doesn't exist, but from a point of view of any terrorist it sounds like a cool idea to join forces with others, and you can do that by calling yourself AQ... So in some sense it is the US creating it not only as a faceless enemy but also as a physical treat.
Do you have any idea the kind of computing resources individuals and companies alike have had to dedicate to spam filtering? How much is that costing the worldwide economy annually...
How much time individuals and companies alike dedicate to watching commercials on tv, in journals and on billboards?
For me these are as annoying as spam. And how much does this cost the worldwide economy?
Mod parent up!
The car drops you off in front of work and drives itself to the parking, rather than making you walk from the parking to the work entrance
More than half a minute including BIOS boot, which according to the article is 15 seconds.

Does anyone else notice similar behavior?
@ being swapped with " is the difference between en_US and en_GB
Only on /. this can be modded insightful :)

It works in the Netherlands. I tried random 20, including the top 5.
Also, it'll also run in Firefox on Linux via moonlight.
The OP says they are extensions to locally installed apps. I don't think M$ will provide linux apps...
... IMAP, which google now also supports.

New safari has the editable IFrame, which is required for all wysywyg web editors, that konqueror (at least latest kde 3 version) doesn't.
It would be more relevant to know how does it perform real life tasks, eg kernel compilation time comparison...
