There are not using shareaza's code at all. They just took the name shareaza ans slapped it on there scam client. They are also using shareaza's update mechanism which checks shareaza.com for updates to alert users of there "upgrade" by referring them to shareaza.com. then they redesigned there website to look just like our site so users that were "upgrading" would not get suspicious. they were originally using the copyrighted shareaza logo on there site but they changed that when they redesigned the website. The thread in question was removed because it violated the forums own rules, NOT because they requested that we take it down
and who is gonna do that? Nobody is willing to step up and say "I represent shareaza" for fear of get sued just like Jonathan Nilson (the previous owner of shareaza.com). That is the same reason why nobody applied for the trademark of "shareaza"
PS. Yes, this is Cyko_01 from the forums
if it fits the definition then it is adware. This should be added to spybot's list immediately so everyone can know what kind of crap Micro$oft is putting on there computer
yep, once again Microsoft is playing by there own rules and completely ignoring web standards. They realize that they don't stand a chance in the HTML world (cross-browser sites aren't exactly there strong point). They also know that if they use the silverlight on the Microsoft site then users will be forced to download the software. If users already have the software on there computers then many sites that would otherwise use flash will convert to silverlight.
On the other hand this could also be the downfall of Microsoft on the internet if users refuse to download the software.
I'm looking forward to a public release for songbird. Songbird is pretty much Winamp and Firefox mashed into one, and they made it work on any OS - even linux. I'm also looking forward to some of the more popular add-ons being ported from firefox (PlainOldFavorites, IETab, TabmixPlus, etc)
Either way Google will win in the end. Google has already proven that they can make stable, intuitive, it-just-works software available on any platform(windows, linux, mac) with google desktop, Picasa, Gtalk, etc. Microsoft on the other hand has proven that they are a bunch of buffoons when it comes to websites and web browsers. If the future goes to the internet then microsoft is screwed and they need to start making some better products in order to stay alive.
Google has also proven that they listen to what the user wants in a web app. Microsoft, well...not so much.
I use Thunderbird to check my gmail account so i don't have to browse to the website and load all kinds of crap I won't use anyways. I'm sure there are others who do the same thing with outlook
I just upgraded a few hours ago and have had a single problem yet! it works great. please do not scare off those who are about to upgrade just because yours doesn't work
of course it's offline! you just slashdotted it!
4. ???
5. PROFIT!!!
If people want it on there it's going on weather Micro$oft likes it or not. Just like with apple's iPhone

...if they were to work together against a common enemy!
ads? I don't see any ads because I use Firefox with Adblock Plus
You would think that getting test missiles shot at them all the time would make passengers avoid that airline
