Are you kidding me?! Surface is revolutionary! Its like a laptop, but the screen is where the keyboard goes and vice verse, and you use it the other way around! Then instead of a touchpad you just smear your fingers all over the screen and, if you are lucky, it doesn't tip over - Brilliant! Its like an ipad but without all the apps and fanboism, no wait... Its like a tablet for people that don't like tablets, wait...nobody likes tablets.
ummm that wouldn't be implemented until at least firefox 18, so it won't be bothering you for another 6 months or so unless you are running on the beta channel - in which case it serves you right, but you'll have the chance to do something about it before it is too late
Firefox 16 will be the first version to support incremental garbage collection. This is a major feature, over a year in the making, that makes Firefox smoother and less laggy. With incremental GC, Firefox responds more quickly to mouse clicks and key presses. Animations and games will also draw more smoothly.
They are trying get everyone to upgrade because the number 1 issue they have had on the tracker for months is related to people using old versions of flash and it reflects negatively on peoples view of the browser
If I lend you my gun and I find out you shot somebody with it, it is my moral responsibility to take it away from you (and report you, etc). Likewise, if I lend you my 3d printer and I find out you have been making illegal/unregistered firearms with it, the same responsibility applies
He mentions in TFA that your comments are stored on the server you are posting to. If that is the case then how can I control who sees what I write on someone elses profile? Can I still edit/delete my own comments?
Yea, a work of art, like picaso. That doesn't make it user friendly. The fact that you said linux is better pretty much sums it all up - it is good but not the best on the market
what happened to the days when 2.0 meant that it was either a complete rewrite or it had significant changes that made it incompatible with 1.x and had undergone extensive testing to qualify it as a "stable" release?
If a user opts into enabling the SmartScreen Filter, application downloads without established reputation result in a notification (see below) warning them that the file may be a risk to their computer.
how else could they shove all that garbage down people's throats? They have to add necessary-evil DRM-type stupid shit to please the companies that are giving them money, but they know that users will never buy into it once they find out these "features" are in it. So what they do is they release a version with only the crap in it, let that version get all the bad press, and then once the trolls are done ranting about the crap they added, they release a new windows version. That version still has all the crap in it, but also has all kinds of stuff people actually want. When the bloggers compare it with the last version of windows the fact that it has all the crap in it merely puts it on par with the last version so it is not viewed as a down-side anymore. Then all the good new features they added in the second version puts it back into the black and people upgrade.
I'm thinking they will do like they did with vista and win7. Vista was crap and they knew it. Win7 contained much of the same crap but they added a few nice things on top. Compared to vista(which is how the online bloggers reviewed it), win7was great! In the end people upgraded and Micro$oft still got to force all kinds of crap on there users. They did it with ME too.
Windows 8 is just part 1 of there plan to get people to upgrade to the next great version of windows.
My money is on linux/android
No point. Windows/microsoft doesn't have a clue how to harness and use that many cores anyways
Oh, and it makes that wicked *snap* noise when you smack the stand, and the keyboard comes off so you won't lose it.

It achieved a cruising speed of 45 mph and is only the third 3-D printed plane known to have been built and flown.
So.....not really news then is it
Oh, and most people will wait the 2 days for the patch in 16.0.1
Hardly! Most addons default to compatible now. Those that cannot, simply set the max version to 50. The UI hasn't changed significantly since 4.0
It funny you say that, because the new rapid release cycle allows for twice as much bug finding/fixing time compared to the old way

Who said scotch tape can fix anything?! DUCT tape fixes anything. All scotch tape is good for is making quick hand-written labels that come off easily
it looks just like the last 5 iphones

...and, much like vista, it is a huge disappointment

actually they did some flash fuzzing already
No. likewise, if you compile with visual studio on windows you can still release your code under any license you wish
I can't watch this video on my android device
Just imagine the characters - Hotty Peppers, Cheery Tomatoes, Crabby Grass... Endless possibilities!
