Incidentally this lull in solar activity coincides with there having been no discernable warming since 2000. But yeah, it's CO2 that's to blame for warming... nothing to do with solar activity.. *rolleyes*
I realize that seeing over traffic wont happen, because everyone else is driving SUVs too I realize that fuel economy will suck I realize that most of the time I won't be hauling more than groceries I realize that most of the time I will be driving it with no passengers in the car I realize that depreciation will be a bitch, especially after this backlash
I just still want one.
Arguing pros and cons only takes you so far. I want a SUV for the same reason I want a nice suit. For the feel of it, and the way it looks - it's an indulgence item, nothing more, just like those designer clothes people pay incredible markups for.
If you want more of a multiplayer MMO, try Dark Age of Camelot - it actually requires people to work together if they want a meaningful end game experience - and the community (what's left of it) is pretty good.
Soft grouping is what killed WoW for me. Noone actually wants to play together, they just want your help and vice versa for just long enough to complete whatever quest that has an elite monster in it.
"However the research has also revealed a disturbingly high level of loss of coral species from the atoll. Compared with a famous study made before the atomic tests were carried out, the team established that 42 species were missing compared to the early 1950s. At least 28 of these species losses appear to be genuine local extinctions probably due to the 23 bombs that were exploded there from 1946-58, or the resulting radioactivity, increased nutrient levels and smothering from fine sediments."
Even from a purely financial standpoint, Blu-Ray makes no sense.
For the cost of a PS3 or a standalone blu-ray drive, you can purchase and build a very nice HTPC instead, stick a 1 TB harddrive in it, and get all your 720p/1080p content in matroska containers... When the 1TB fills up, delete something, downscale it, or just add another bigger drive. Acquiring legal download content is probably (haven't checked just now) also cheaper than buying blu-ray discs.
So what's the point?
Unless you have rediculously low bandwidth, very high morals (lack of legal online HD outlets), or simply a complete lack of tech savvy (in which case you wouldn't be reading this in all probability), download direct to player is THE way to go which makes any physical format a mere curiousity in the very near future.
That said - the PS3 will probably be the last physical media player I will own - and I only own it because it was free.
Actually that's exactly right, the courts are not the government in Denmark. They are apolitical and completely independant, the government has zero influence on their policies, who gets appointed or anything else - apart from approving the general budget.
Just because your own courts are corrupt and political, doesn't mean ours are.
That said, the "fogedret" is not really a court as such, it's a means of getting temporary injunctions quickly (among other things irrelevant to this discussion) - that's why Tele2 intended to take it up at the proper courts, to get a proper ruling on the matter to see if the injuction will hold up at all.
Not entirely accurate - since the federal law equivalent in our case would probably be EC law. We have to conform to international treaties and such, so the question (long term) is where the EC is going on this - NOT where the danish parliament thinks it wants to go now.
When did slashdot become a blog for retarded people living in the past? This person needs to bone up on the skism that is rights control vs free use. The US has been waaaay far to the control side for a long time mostly due to recording and movie industries doing a lot of succesful lobbying over the last decade. Now things are starting to swing a bit the other way and this dunce is panicing.
FYI My ASUS A6VA has a similar issue - it jolts me whenever I touch the media control buttons (that just happen to be brushed aluminium) while I'm grounded.
It's not exactly a mains strength jolt, but uncomfortable nonetheless - I just never really thought of complaining about it until now.
I suspect it's a design flaw - the machine boasts the ability to play CDs without turning it on - so somewhere around that media circuit there must be power, and it just happens to reach the buttons =/
That's really the main issue - GMs failure to produce modern engines. Most other manufacturers are able to squeeze more out of less.. so why not GM? Lack of innovation will kill them, not what the consumer does or does not want.
How about you, GM, concentrate on creating cars that don't suck first? Preferably ones that are profitable enough as to not put you out of business.
Honestly I don't see how GM can predict what they'll do in 2015, when it's looking rather uncertain whether they will make it to 2010 at all - mostly due to a bad product, bad management, bad market prediction and good unions.:)
Considering the unwashed masses that work in Miami Airport for instance... my only facial expression is likely to be a mixture of wonder and disgust:)
I'm surprised these guys can dress themselves, much less recognize terrorists by the way they behave after being 3 hours in line for immigration, after a 10+ hour flight to begin with. Honestly I'd suspect anyone smiling at all.

Fair enough.
:)
I really want an SUV.

I don't need a reason to desire one
So aerodynamics and weight make a difference when trying to propel an object?!
This is going to revolutionize everything!
Maybe if we drove cars in space we wouldn't have those pesky problems.
Who can I sue about being allergic to idiots (aka "other people")?
:)
Local government and courtrooms seem to have the highest concentration, so I guess I'll start there
"Anyone know anybody who bought Vista except as bundled with hardware?"
Yes, but he's a swede, so..
You're quite right, sadly.
If you want more of a multiplayer MMO, try Dark Age of Camelot - it actually requires people to work together if they want a meaningful end game experience - and the community (what's left of it) is pretty good.

Selective reading is much like statistics...

1. Scalability - will it scale for use in domestic lighting?
:)
2. Color temperature - will it do warm white or something similarly pleasant?
3. Argon... isn't that toxic? (since the summary mentioned hazardous materials but didn't point that out, high school chem is so long ago..)
4. Price if none of the above are problematic
5. Time to market.
If someone can answer those, I'll be genuinely interested
Yes, only the ugly filthy people get sick.
... and colonics mean you can eat whatever you want.
And showering washes away all your sins
*rolleyes*

Because transporting and storing hydrogen is a lot more difficult than storing and transporting a liquid hydrocarbon.

I'm calling for mandatory disconnection of idiots, including music industry personnel.
Wow, suddenly IPv4 will be sufficient for the next 100 years at least.
Wow, Kenny G will have a busy schedule for the next few years.
or around "friends" ... at least they stayed away from "Impress your date".
Sell Vista Ultimate at $99.
Although odds are there still wont be many people actually wanting it anyway.

"turns out Vista logged less than half the vulnerabilities than Windows XP did in its first year"
... so they haven't found the vulnerabilities as fast, big whoop?
The operative word here is 'logged'
.. the monkeys become really agitated and develop red-eye..

"to help other countries enforce US laws"
OK so we'll start sending ours in to enforce our laws in the US ? I think a lot of kids would appreciate the drinking age and sexual maturity at 15.
Heck here you can't patent computer programmes - goodbye MS.
