Still not fair as the driver on track still has to incur same slow pitstop when they come in. Pitting during VSC should only be allowed to repair damage like a total flat, missing bodywork, etc. There is no other legitimate reason to pit during VSC. I hate VSC as it gives certain 'lucky' drivers an unfair and rather large advantage. When lap differences between cars are measured in tenths of a second, a VSC pitstop could impart a multi lap advantage to the lucky ones.
Let's say that automated cars reach parity with the 'average' human driver. A lot of people consider that acceptable quality so they would be widely deployed. That means a lot of people that would not have been injured by the above average human driver will now be getting mowed down by these 'average' cars. I say to hell with that. These cars need to reach a much higher level of quality. They should be as good as the best human drivers or better before being let loose on the roads.
Due to the apparent total darkness where the bicyclist was crossing and the bright street lights right before, it seems that the camera was adjusting its DR to accommodate the near conditions. The human eye (not an old person) would have been able to see much further than what the video suggests.
I saw aerial pics of my town from 1924. It was very sparsely populated. One of the few roads from 1924 is still present totally unchanged. And, it is one of the junctions that is totally backed up and congested EVERY day. Let's think about it. In almost 100 years, these lazy asshats have made zero improvements, meanwhile the area went from 1,000 residents to 100,000 residents. I have sent in 'suggestions' on how to improve 2 intersections where there are obvious solutions as to why they congest. They have incorporated neither.
From empirical evidence, yes, a bus carries more people than a single car but, it moves at 1/4 of the speed so immediately you can say that instead of let's say 40 people/hour, it carries 10/hour. Further, a bus route has a bus that goes out every 15 minutes at best. That is totally inefficient as those 10/hour people if in a car would have been spread out more.
Secondly, a bus is seldom fully utilized, it's mean load is probably 1/2 full or less.
Lastly, a bus utilizes the actual transport medium (the street) less efficiently. It actually blocks the more efficient means of transportation (cars). No way a bus is more efficient than the number of cars needed to transport the same number of people.
What if you just like development? I do both management and coding and management just sucks. It's a life sucking profession. Developing software is so much more fun.
ARM is RISC with some extensions...RISC was always touted as better but CISC always won out. Intel has putzed around for the last 5-7 years as they did not have a real competitor in the CISC world. I think with Epyc being as good as it is, it will become a race again.
Intel has a stranglehold on server CPUs. AMD is making a comeback there but the ARM camp does not have compelling enough solutions in that space. Low power is great but it's not everything.
It takes them 2+ years to realize that a major scam is taking place where the proponents are just using different names for what otherwise would be considered equity. It's childish to think that because something is not named IPO but ICO, it should be free of existing govt regulation.
Or something like it. A sporty 2 door vert similar to the original tesla roadster but at 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. With the advances in tech that should be doable now.
1. Chief of police should resign.
2. The supervisor who hired the shooter and/or is/was in charge of training should be demoted or fired
3. The shooter needs to be charged with manslaughter.
Obviously many factors played into the final outcome of an innocent man being killed. If this was any other circumstance (not the police), most of the above would happen. We as a society should not tolerate this behaviour. Police themselves should aspire to a higher standard. They should not tolerate the current state of affairs.
Well, of course some things just weren't there at the time but to me these sound like straw man arguments.
I still dare a comparison on modern hardware running Old time Software vs todays's versions.
The software that existed at the same time this 486 was prevalent ran just fine and rather quickly on the 486. This modern (last 20 years) with layering software with countless abstraction layers has produced utter crap software. I would like to see how fast the software of that era runs on modern PCs versus the crap software we put on them today.
And so did a buddy of mine. Both white. Both in relatively affluent areas. Both times for absolutely no good reason (there was no justification for them pulling me or him over and no tickets issued). Neither of those areas ever had a shooting happen towards a police officer. And, this was many years ago, like 30 years. The cop had his firearm pointed at my head from behind me while I was talking to the another police officer through the window. So, I am sure I was quite close to getting killed had I made a move that they considered 'threatening'. Once you have an experience like that you will never forget it and you won't spout your mouth off as 'police are justified' and all that bullshit.
So, cops have always been inclined to pull their weapons for no good reason. You know the saying, 'If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail?'. Well, I think that is the main problem here. Police are trained to resolve issues through force and that's what they know how to do so they do it. I know my stories are anecdotal but they have created a deep mistrust of police and most authoritarian symbols which I make sure to convey to anyone who will listen.
It's about time we pull out of the ancient tradition of letting shyster politicians make our decisions for us.
Not if yank out its antenna or SIM card or whatever it's using to do so

Business Opportunity! Ding Ding. Offer a device with wifi/rj 45 that does this with minimal to no set up and it's doable.
.net core is not on the way. It's been here for 2 years now.

You mean technically she is at fault.

At the 'better documented' comment. The cool kids say the code is the documentation.
What if your computer is running in a rather secure isolated environment? Why default to the patched version which will slow everything down?

Give them an xbox, pizza and an MMO and they will happily spend countless hours. They do not need tons of $$$ to be happy.
By hunter gatherer you mean crime? You mean that some should be either be paid or be allowed to commit crime?
Lots of women take ibuprofen during their period for cramps.

Yeah, I wrote some of that as well :)
