And in europe they don't have as many layers of taxation. That 41% you mention is it (VAT also) and maybe a form of property tax. US has Fed tax, state tax, city tax, sales tax, property tax. In some cases we pay a LOT more than the europeans who by the way get free stuff for their taxes like health care and higher education. We get nukes, subs, carriers, stealth fighters, etc.

  7. You have to separate the rendering pipeline into multiple parts. The server side can do a lot of the heavy lifting of calculating polygons, etc but it does not need to send every pixel to the client device. It only needs to send the description. Think something along the lines of a PDF doc that describes the scene to be rendered. If the hardware on the client side is optimized to render that then it can be done. At least, that's how I would do it if someone paid me tons of money to attempt to do it.

The large tech giants pay so much that it skews the Risk/Reward of any startup-minded person. Everytime I go there and go to a pharmacy to get a prescription refill while abroad, the price charged is usually even lower than my copay in the USA. It is an obscenity against US consumers. We should really be in the streets with pitch forks about this but we are not. The fact that most drugs are covered and only copay is needed obfuscates the real retail prices that would cripple anyone without insurance. I was shocked about the prices in europe. Most americans would not even need prescription coverage for most of those drugs as their street price is ridiculously low compared to what we pay in the USA
