At least you get the skippable promo's. Disney movies were(and probably still are...) notorious for having ten minutes of unskippable "Coming soon" promos in front of their movies. I'll put up with having unskippable promo's in a movie theater but not on my own home theater.
I have to agree, I got a film the other day on DVD and it did this to me. The only way to skip was to jump chapters.
If they want to advertise on the dvd to me then they should discount the dvd.
Think you got that wrong...
it's:
There are 10 kinds of UNIX admins...
- those who can count
- and those who can't
(For those that fail to get the joke, 10 in Binary is 2)
I remember when i was at uni we wrote/modified a script that was a mix of bash and expect that ssh'd around the computer lab opening and closing the cd-rom drives while playing an amusing tune on the internal speakers.
Was quite amusing to ssh in and do that from the next room while there was a class in session.
Statistically you should be able to guess the right letter/number in half the keyspace. But in practice, it will always be the very last character you need to try.
Are you retarded??
Of course it will be the last letter you try.. Why on earth would you keep guessing after you have got the correct character??
Yes, it's interesting theoretically, but in practice, I agree with others it's not going to work. Accuracy is inadequate: GPS in my car occasionally puts me on the wrong road, for goodness' sake. It's particularly bad in cities with tall buildings. Also, as pointed out elsewhere, false positives alone will make it deadly.
"Sir, you realise if you go 1 more meter to you left you are road kill, sir can i warn you about the truck you are about to hit. CAR on the left pulling out. AHHHHH You are going down the middle of the road!!! we are surrounded, we are all going to die. AHHH! oh please noooo I don't want to die."
Personally the games I aquire via means other than retail are extended demos, if I like I buy. However there are some games I have that I wouldn't say are good, they are amusing. I would never in a million years buy them, but as I aquired them for nothing I will play them.
It is not lost revenue as the companies would have it, as I never intended to purchase the game, nor would I ever purchase it, so how is that lost revenue?
Even more shocking is the fact that by only developing for windows you are forcing people who wouldn't normally choose windows to have a copy just to play games, and as such re-enforcing the illusion that there are too few other users of other platforms to both porting the games.
12. If a gamer owns a copy of a game for 1 platform they shall be able to download versions for all other platforms at no extra cost. (I.e. I buy a game for windows and they release a linux version, I should not have to buy the game twice).
1. Its just random noise and not an encrypted file/volume.
2. I forgot the password, as I am innocent until proven guilty, I respectfully request that you prove I have not forgoten said password.
3. My computer is used by all parties in my house as well as friends of mine. Please prove that the data is mine and was placed there by me.
In fact the 3rd defence is the probably best as in order to prosecute they have to be able to prove who created the data and subsequently encrypted it. Though I would probably use this as a last line of defence if the other 2 failed.
What about gaming?
What about the poor DRM compainies (allegedly) protecting said games?

Shame, would have been nice, if they used world maps.
I hope he slaps you very hard each time :)

Not false just a little off, I was incorrect in implying that no graphical data was transmitted. My excuse is I was pulling from memory.
Thank is true but then all windows desktops are the same so MS cheat by rendering everything locally and not transmitting all of the graphical data.
I actually laughed at that, though whether that says more about me than the joke i don't know.
Thanks for the link, tried zsh a while back and wasn't impressed but then the author seems to have had the same issue as me. I'll give it another go..
Mods: Mod him up
pft with commands like touch, finger, grep yea it is. :)

^^ Sorry that sounds a tad harsh, was meant as a jibe. Insert similies where applicable.

you sir, are quite correct.. I should learn to read what is written and not make up what I would like to have seen written..

Fixed that for you..
"All clear a head"
SPLAT!
Yea just what I need when cornering on my bike.

^^ The title of the next article..
A lot of projects accept them..
Are you implying that our legal system is sub-par when compared to yours?
If so could you clarify if that is good or not? :) )
(after all sub par in golf is a good thing
So based on that ruling. I am living in the UK but I can not just sue random domains because i can reach them via a domain name.. Sweet.
*nips off to see his lawyer about lawsuits*

Plausible defences.
