    The main "Desktop" market is Business users, i.e. System Admin's and CIO's they want a system that "just works" and they know already

    They hate with a passion every new version of Windows as it causes them hours of work in testing and deployment, but at least they can run in parallel

    Anything other (Mac or Linux or anything else) is simply ignored as not an option unless they are forced to use it

    The only reason Apple devices are used in these environments is because Designers love them and so the the desktops are used, and now many of the execs have iPhones and iPads which *must* work ...

    Linux/BSD boxes are used in these environments where they are easier to install and maintain and they do not affect the users ...

    If you are talking Home users then history would say that selling a Linux PC is dead because of the complaints from users who can't run Windows programs ... when it is a device that is not a PC then they don't expect this and it is not an issue ...(e.g. android phones, iPad etc ...)

    You can work on any film with any company, but if you want to work on a film where SAG actors work then you need to be a member of SAG, and if you are a member of SAG than you are banned from non-union productions ... you have the choice only work with SAG productions or only work non-SAG ... guess where the money is ...

    Most android users are just as clueless about the guts of the system as Apple users, many have locked down systems where they cannot get at the guts to do this kind of stuff ...many are even unaware they are using Android at all ...

    Unlike Linux, Android is a consumer platform, and is currently outselling Apple on Mobiles, either there are vastly more "Hackers" than anyone ever thought, or is is the general public using this ...

    All it shows is where your ISP has declared where your current IP is based ...

    They only monitored public Torrents, they did not monitor any private torrents, they did not monitor any other file exchange protocols (Music is relatively small and can easily be exchanged without Bittorrent)

    Another worthless survey, that seems to show that China and Japan do not share much music (Really!)

    Almost anyone could work on an assembly line making cars, most people can fix a lot of things on cars, some people can find faults on cars, a few can design new cars

    Almost anyone can code, most people can program to some degree, some people can program professionally, a few can design large program systems

    Almost anyone can learn to read, most people can learn to speak in public, some people can be an actor, a few people can be an inspirational orator

    It's a matter of degree ....

    All of these are actually very similar languages, and all the high level ones can be rote learned as the same language with different syntax ...

    Now go an learn a different language (e.g. Functional) this will show if you are programmer of a code monkey

    There is nothing special about any profession, anyone can learn to do anything - Given that they don't have a disability that prevents them, and a minimal level of intelligence

    But to be good enough at it to be employed doing it they need two things : Motivation, and experience (the second being dependent on the first)

    What they may never be no matter how much experience and motivation they have is the innate ability to be better than average at the task ...

    There is no getting over the fact that some people are better at some things than others, however the majority can do anything to at least a competent level

    ISDN E1 30 x 2.048 Mbit/s lines

    Not just a regional variant, it's the debugged version, there was only ever one flavour and except for BT's DASSII protocol variant only one standard ...the 'E' is a misnomer since it is used almost everywhere except USA, Canada (T1) , and Japan (J1)

    ISDN is the predominant Australian type of line for businesses (except where this has already been rolled out)

    If the information is that sensitive then what is it doing on a portable device in the first place...?

    This is like car security, what you have is a tin box on wheels, this can be stolen (Towed/transported) and worked on at leisure, all security can be broken given enough time and resources, it is usually only a case of does the thief consider it worth the time and effort ...

    So most of the world's population do not use 911 as an emergency number ....

    Hard Disks - Expensive (in comparison) but large and quick
    Flash drives - Very Expensive and small
    Tape - Cheap and reliable and big enough for most
    Cloud - Slow (unless you have a huge pipe), and expensive (cost per month)

    A bunch of tapes in a safe off-site is still the best solution for most people .... your mileage may vary

    Fat causes heart disease is a tricky one ....

    Coronary heart disease one form of heart disease is caused by excessive amounts of some types of Cholesterol a fat, and this is normally correlated with obesity, eating Trans-Fats, and some foods regarded as fatty, (Red meat, cheese) but other fatty foods can reduce the risk, and others are neutral ....

    Diet is simple - a balanced diet is good for you.... it can be hard to have a balanced diet in modern society...

    What a US centric report of a UK news story

    The LTE frequency the UK is using is the same as Australasia, Asia and most of the world ...

    The only device that cannot use the Rest of the world LTE is the iPad and they have been fined already for advertising 4G when it cannot work outside the US

    Mobile coverage in the UK, 3.5G Coverage, and Broadband coverage is better in the UK than the USA ... (Behind quite a few countries in Europe though)

    With regulation, the regulators themselves have to be regulated

    Without regulation the corporations will do everything they can to sell you whatever they can get away with, i.e. cheap rubbish sold as a luxury

    The best regulation is labelling, where you can see exactly what you are buying, can trust that the labelling is honest, and can therefore make an informed decision, and breaking up monopolies and cartels, who will use their monopoly to take away your choice ...nothing else should be necessary

    Like most of the cultures that preserve their dead, rather than burying/burning/exposing them they had a nearby place where natural preservation occurred, desert or cave which dessicated the body, and they learned how to make this more reliable ....
