Neat idea, I really like it, I always though that Linux is like a universe, and that projects are like multiverses with their own worlds and populations.
I think it would be cool to represent this, and I think it would be nice if we can show the best of everything like Linux is.
We could show that Linux is everywhere, like in big and important server rooms (NASA, CERN, etc). and also show cool desktops such as KDE4, Compiz effects, etc. Children using OLCPs running Linux, mini laptops, etc. and also a representation of the future and community.
Yeah, I shouldn't have called you a moron... sorry for that, but I also don't think that you had to say "Fuck your attitude", that was a bit rude too.
How much would cost the port? Since it's already OpenGL and all that?
I'm willing to buy the game to support the Linux version, I buy id software games and I think others do too... I'm sure there are many Linux people that will buy the game.
I'm also very sure that there will be gamers and more people switching to Linux if the game exist.
Game companies usually say "We want to see Linux gamers before creating any games for this platform", but how they expect to see Linux gamers if they never create the games for this platform in the first place? I think the only thing that they have to see is demand and a market growing around it... and people willing to support them, which we will if they give us what we ask.
Thank you for contacting Blizzard Technical Support!
Blizzard currently does not develop for the Linux platform; however, we are keeping an eye on the progress of Linux and may change in the future. Currently we only support our games on the platforms listed on the box/website. There are some issues with Linux that may interfere with a connection to our servers as well. Overall, we do not support the use of our games on Linux.
Thank you again for contacting Blizzard Technical Support and please let me know if I can be of any further assistance!
Sincerely,

Fuck Blizzard, they don't even deserve to appear on Slashdot.
Companies are stupid, they say "There aren't many Linux gamers, that's why we don't do games"... But how the FUCK do they expect to see Linux GAMERS if they don't create the FUCKING GAMES!!!
There is DEMAND, and that's all they have to see in order to provide games... when you provide GAMES, there will be a lot of Linux gamers.
I prefer advertising Linux.
Linux is the OS and a good brand, Ubuntu and other distros are simply the fruits of Linux.
Very nice, life without walls... freedom.

Great idea, might the best video win =D
"Yeah, Windows; gotta admit it's better for videogames."
;)
Wine has been improving a lot lately

Hey reallocate,
;-)
Sorry there, I shouldn't have called you stupid or insult you.
And while you have some good points, I still have different ones, but I wont call you that again, sorry.
I also get touchy when it comes to Linux
That's a very stupid way of thinking.
Sorry to be so direct, but it's simply what I think.
You should have said:
"Posted anon because I don't have balls."
Just use FreeSWITCH instead of Asterisk, it's a lot better. Asterisk is worthless and broken software.
Flash 10 makes my browser (Firefox 3.0.3) hang when I browse a youtube video and I make it go full screen.
This is on Linux (Slackware 12.1.0)
I would love Linux support too, I'm even willing to pay double for it.
I second that.
We need Linux support.
I second that.

Just my two cents.
It will exist if you make the shit available, you moron.
I wrote Blizzard and this is what they said:

Fuck Blizzard, they don't even deserve to appear on Slashdot.
I agree with you... Thanks for the support Blizzard.
We want native and officially supported.
...and even if the game doesn't work in Wine, they should demand too ;)
I agree, absolutely.
People that play games on Wine should always demand the native Linux version of that game to the makers of the game.
While they are working with Wine to support Linux gaming, it's nice to know that... but I don't think we should be conformist with that.
I like Wine and it's a great effort to make some win32 applications (including games) work on Linux, but lets demand native Linux games.
We want officially and native supported Linux version of their games, wine doesn't count as native.
When Blizzard start to port their games to Linux I will care.
Otherwise I'm not buying their games.
The day Blizzard start to make their games for Linux I will become interested, otherwise I wont.
Yeah the same happens with Linux as well.

To all:
What is your position on cross-platform computer gaming? Is there a viable market for MacOS and Linux gaming in your view?
Thanks

I second that too.
We want Linux games.
