You are most likely correct. There is no way that the police and court systems would want crime to continue. They want almost all crime to stop. That way we only need 2 county judges, 1 DA and 1 Assistant DA, 3 PDs and 5 cops per county.
It is even visible in the way the police do things. They harp all the time about pulling most of the police from generating revenue to fighting violent crime. I have never even seen where a city or county that has tons of violent crime waste resources on speed traps or DUI checkpoints that mostly just result in impounded vehicles and tickets for insurance or expired licenses. It just doesn't happen.
Now if you could show me that stuff like that is happening I might be able to believe that crazy shit but until then the "cynical crazies" can STFU.
Actually I think in order to be a good parody it must be close to the truth of what it is a parody of.
