A surefire winner to lead the country... he will fit right in with the last two or three or four. I like clinton but even he made some very bad decisions. I did not like any of the Bushs. Obama I just don't get me started on him lol
Java is here to stay though. First off Oracle, HP and Symantec build almost all there tools in java so that pretty much guarantees survival. I know google is trying to get away from it for all HTML 5 all chromebooks don't even support java.
I am thinking the same thing as ganjadude it gives hackers an extra few days to exploit those holes before there patched. For security reasons I understand but people have gotten so used to the old process. I been saying for a few years now why give away the security holes before the patches come out I agree with Microsoft on this change.
I agree they may be loosing the one thing that made them special but again did it make them special or just put them further behind. They are one of the worse run companies in tech today. Technology just passed them by the lack of app support really hurt them more then anything.
I agree I mean if your running Novell (god help you) and you ask Novell to help you with a Red Hat issue. They won't why because they own suse. Same situation why would they support a product that they do not design. Someone at the Wall Street Journal needed something to write about on a slow news day.
Microsoft been doing the same thing for years back in 2006 and 2007 Microsoft was on a patent kick taking everyone to court. It stopped when Microsoft got taken to court over a patent issue with Office 2007 they were forced to payout which ended the patent tare Microsoft was on.
We turn off comments and pingbacks because of just the pure amount of spam we were constantly dealing with on a regular basis. I agree this looks like a Wordpress flaw not an xml-rpc issue drupal or dotnetnuke are not having the same issue on there platforms.
This is problem with digital media how do you will it to someone unless you leave the username and password in your will or leave it in book some where. If you have a huge movie collection on DVD family can take that collection but what if your huge DVD collection is on amazon how do they access it unless you leave them the username and password.
A lot of hardware venders make money on installing the bloatware. I remember when I was building pcs for company right after college we used to install AOL on everything cause AOL payed the company. We installed eBay shortcuts, Nortain AV anything just to make a few extra dollars on computers. Dell has been hurting financially they probably need extra cash.
I am a ham radio operator and I will run in there for a soldering wire for a few diodes cause there cheap enough and the shipping for electronics sites is a little pricey. But I refuse to over pay for linksys routers and cables for my surround sound system. Radio Shack prices are a little high for anything else besides the little things.
The sad part is the space department NASA made this country great. I mean we worked hard to be the first one to the moon and so many great things came out of nasa and now they pretty much can't do anything because they have no funding.

I would like to see him go to HBO I think that would be great.

The Fifth Estate, The Social Network and Pirates Of Silicon Valley were good movies I enjoyed them. The Jobs movie I though was a terrible adaptation.

That's why the cloud is not always the best option for people despite what all these company's are pushing.
It's going to be like SiriusXM GMC has XM where Dodge has Sirius. One will have AT&T one will have verizon exc.

With the Ubuntu phone OS porting over iOS and Android Apps its only a matter of time till we have an open platform.

Huge loss to the security community his information were always informative great mind and presenter.
I agree
I agree slashdot has been a bit behind but it's still worth posting since most of us slashdoters are Unix and Linux nerds.
I tried to buy the Chromecast on Amazon for $35 they are already sold out.
There was a guy that used Facebooks own API to block ads maybe the same will happen with Instagram.
This sounds like something off of "The Onion".
Just the government updating there laws so they get a cut of the action pretty soon eBay will charge and all the others.

I remember a year or 2 ago twitter had an exploit similar to this I agree this is old new news lol
Wearable computing is not the answer the best technology is one that solves a problem.
