But that's just in theory, of course. No company is going to take a stand against Abu Gonzalez, and too many Americans are too apathetic to pay any attention to their rights being eroded. More votes for the last "American Idol" than in the last Presidential election, indeed...

Another load of bull. These tribes have a record of donations to the Democratic party and candidates prior to Abramoff. In fact, what's truly telling is the realization that these tribes donated to Democrats far less after getting involved with Abramoff.
Abramoff's tribal clients continued to give money to Democrats even after he began representing them, although in smaller percentages than in the past.
The Saginaw Chippewas gave $500,500 to Republicans between 2001 and 2004 and $277,210 to Democrats, according to a review of data compiled by Dwight L. Morris & Associates, a Bristow, Virginia-based company that tracks campaign-finance reports. Between 1997 and 2000, the tribe gave just $158,000 to Republicans and $279,000 to Democrats.
Repeat after me: Abramoff gave no money to Democrats. It is true that some of his clients, some Indian tribes -- indeed those bilked by Abramoff -- gave money to both Republicans and Democrats. One cannot directly link this money to Abramoff, however.... and in fact it would be foolish to do so.
When you check into an average hotel room and find -- alongside the alarm clock, hair dryer and DVD player that once were bring-your-own items but now are as standard as the furniture -- a cheap PC for guests to plug into, as our truly personal computing environment travels with us.
The Doubletree I've been staying at for the past million months recently replaced all the regular clock radios with new ones that, in addition to four other preset "memorised" stations, has a button designated to an input jack -- so that MP3 players can be connected.
On my box at home, that's what I do. Unfortunately it's not an option here....and that's beside the point anyway. I wasn't talking about being annoyed by pop-ups, I was talking about an article questioning Yahoo!'s pop-up practices, noting that the vehicle for this article also happened to use them.

True enough, based on some singaporean college classmates of mine from back in the day, I knew what this would be about w/o reading the article.

As it turns out, I was wrong - it's even more innocuous than that.
seen that one before too.

Downloaded my FC6 DVD x86_64 iso, burned it, began the installer, verified the disc and got started...
Resolving dependencies...

[ 3 hours later, I have eaten dinner, washed the dishes, run errands halfway across town and returned home ]
It's still resolving dependencies, with about 20-25% left in the progress bar. This is going from FC5-> FC6. Ouch
I did give up -- for now anyway. Maybe I'll let it try and resolve while I go to work tomorrow.
Actually perhaps even further back than you might imagine! I submitted something that seems quite similar... back in 1999?

It's like the joke I once heard about Canada. You see, they coulda had the best of all worlds: French food, American technology and British culture.
Instead, they ended up with British food, French technology and American culture.

Now who's the one reciting talking points?

Meanwhile, an FEC search of Abramoff's personal political donations show where his true loyalties exist.
As for the Clinton bit, please refer to what someone else has written further down in the threads. No need to repeat it here.
Heh, so maybe it's a good marketing strategy, then - I'm sure they'll have a rip-roaring business within the riceboy, Mugen-loving crowd.
Well, I guess a recording of this one won't be there...
the iRiver devices play .ogg. Got mine a while back and think it's great.

No kidding.
I was wondering if someone had run that statement through Bullfighter yet. I'm sure it would had some snide remarks about the paragraph.

But " Chinee "?
Makes me think of the Wild West, railroads and laundry service more than modern-day questions of internet protocols and global politik.
Aw, hell - it wouldn't surprise me to see "Bandage - $100.00" on a hospital invoice anyway, these days, shrimp flavour or not.
You seen what they charge for an ibuprofen or two?
No, he means transubstantiation.
