heh, you know the funny thing though is that when I go to CompUSA all the macs are open and showing off the desktop. I think Apple wants you to play with them. Mind you, down the aisle all of the WinTel machines are screensavered and passworded. Usually it's either pipes or maze. heh.

I'm running the preview on a G3 800 iBook (nov 2002 version) It runs dandy. This might just be the placebo effect but it also feels quicker. Snappier. Expose is very smooth and responsive. Preview as demonstrated at the keynote is very fast rendering.

Quibbles: iChat AV (otherwise excellent) tends to clip off buddy icons now and then. Really not an issue. There of course is no help (content not made yet) The biggest quizzer I had was figuring out how to burn a disc. There is no disk copy app. There is a program called disk image mount or something like that, that will mount dmg files. After a little while I found that I could use disk utility to convert a .toast image to .dmg format then burn to CD. worked fine. I don't remember if that was possible with Jaguar.

Those are the only three things that have bugged me and they really aren't anything to complain about in a Preview release.

you know this and I know this but many trolls don't know this. I think Apple just got tired of hearing how PCs are faster and what not. Personally I was blown away by the keynote. Also, for anyone wondering I'm using the developer preview now and if the release of Panther is anything like the preview, holy crap. It is nice. There are a ton of tiny improvements here and there that really make it nice, even nicer than Jaguar. These are little things that weren't mentioned in the keynote.

Well placed text on a nice website can be freaking gorgeous. Someday humanity will get over the disease of nostalgia. I can't wait. Things change. They always have. I hope they always will.

As for the methods younger people, and older people employ to write, who cares again? Again, language changes and English is certainly the most mutatable language in the world. It's supposed to change.

Has anyone noticed that no one writes an f as the first s in any word? No. Who cares? Other than the President of that association.

Wow. The massive amount of people that seem to have no ability to understand what the hell I'm talking about here is absolutely astounding.

you don't seem to get the point do you? The vast majority of america considers it stealing. congress considers it stealing. the musicians consider it stealing. eventually I'm certain the supreme court will consider it stealing.

I never fucking once said that Apple changed the streaming ability to comply with law. it is my educated guess that they did so to please the people with whom they have contracts. and maybe because Apple considers it stealing too and doesn't want to be a fucking facilitator.

lastly, you tard, Fair use does not denote taking something that you purchased. keeping what you purchased, making an exact 1:1 copy of that item and then giving it out to millions of people for free with no compensation to the original author/artist/inventor. That's fucking theft.

God damn it! Quit making fucking excuses for your illegal actions and the illegal actions of others by hiding behind your limited understanding of law. And you stupid son of a bitch if you ever fucking try to use Jefferson again to back up your twisted understanding of the world again so help me if I find out who you are you fucking coward I will see to it that you spend the rest of your life drooling on trees while tied to a bench in the park because you can no longer care for yourself.

Jefferson died in the 1st quarter of the 19 th century. he had no fucking concept of the computer. the only copying machien he'd ever heard of was the one he made to copy his correspondence.

Your defense of theft is as backwards as the inane defenses made regarding gun control.

Now would you all please just shut the fuck up.
