Except you lose a lot of efficiency when you take into account the loss from having to charge a battery. If we really want to get into it, there's loss between the power plant and the plug as well. Add to that that batteries lose a lot of their charge/lifetime when they're chilled down to that cold. On the other hand, if you have to plug your car in at night anyways so the block doesn't freeze, you're already used to using a bit of electricity to keep your car happy on those cold nights.
Electronics still create heat. They're all in a heavily insulated box up there, the insulation is there to keep out radiation which would fry both fleshy and non fleshy inhabitants. It's not like they can just drop a huge heatsink on the outside, there's no air to blow past it and cool the damned thing. Humans up there or not, the AC is pretty damned important up there.
As it currently stands, If I am making X on unemployment, then get a part time job that pays Y, my unemployment checks will be X-Y. After a couple months, EDD will see that I am employed, and adjust my benefits so that not only do I no longer get paid X-Y, but if I lose that job, the benefits are based off the lower salary and vastly lower. It's kind of sad because there are plenty of people would be happy to take lower paying jobs to help their unemployment last longer, but if they do so, they're shooting themselves in the foot. The system as written, forces you to wait till you can get a job that pays well, or lose all your benefits.
uhm.. The instructions you gave "right lane is always for overtaking only" etc *is* for the UK. Your disclaimer at the end about avoiding mass confusion and panic will cause just that. Good job.
Uhm.. as much as i really dislike Apple, I feel obligated to point out that the iphone/pad run stripped down versions of OSX. Apple just removed a bunch of the crap that doesn't need to be there.
So let me get this straight.. If you have a disability, they should drop coverage. If you are at a greater risk to getting sick with X, they should drop coverage. So essentially, you're saying that the people who need health insurance should be canceled. That way the healthy people can pay less for their coverage. Well, until they get sick and their coverage is canceled.
Apple hardware is no longer any different than PC hardware. I liked Apple hardware back when they shipped SCSI drives as standard on desktops, now it's not really any different except for a pretty case.
While you were technically correct in the sense that I'm also made of quarks, atoms are made of hadrons (protons, neutrons, electrons). THOSE are made of quarks. Quarks are theorized to be made from preons, but no evidence of their existence has yet been found.
I recently visited MT and various places in CA.. While in MT i was using the "in network roaming" on AT&T, i got several calls/emails/txts where they threatened to shut off service because i was using too much roaming data. I was lucky to get 2 bars of 1x signal. As soon as I crossed into CA, i had full bars of 1x and 3g nearly every single place i went, however if i used it, i was going to pay 80c/min and some other ungodly rate for data. I eventually found a free wifi spot in Calgary and downloaded a sip program so i could actually use my phone.
I'm just ashamed that my phone seems to have better coverage in several provences in CA than it does in a lot of the states i've used it in.
The problem with that is that they claim that once installed, the license is paired with the motherboard. Per their licensing rules, if you replace or upgrade your motherboard, you should buy a new license. Given, they don't enforce that overly much, but that's how they wrote it.

Wow.. extra points for the Poxy Boggards references!
More expensive than having to throw it away since you can no longer process it?
Actually, TFA says it's 6x32kW lasers that all focus on the target at once.

I used to drink pure dihydrogen oxide, but now I've cut it down to only 60% pure, mixed with 40% alcohol to dilute it.
WiFi has 11 channels, but of those, only 3 don't actually overlap.
If I had mod points, you deserve them.

They said "going half a mile TO GET on the freeway.."

Yes, that's a brilliant plan.

Somehow I think I'm the only one who got that..
blegh.
the in preview and the spacing once posted are completely different.
Unless you make a 2 letter word as well:

Am I the only one who is bothered by them calling a 10x10x30 device a "cube"?
uhm..
So I didn't RTFA, but the summary says pounds, not dollars. That'd be $544 and $152 respectively using current exchange rates.
I remember a product of this sort (I think by Viewsonic) several years back.
i'm currently finding the urge to stir my brain with a fork via my eye. thank you ever so much.
