Given this scare with the 650, I did a search on eBay to see if people are unloading their treos. What I found was a lot of listings for people selling COUPONS to get the Treo 650 at a discounted price of $349. I noticed that some people were obviously mistaken and bidding upwards of $300 for this coupon, rather than the actual device. Does anyone have any information on this coupon?

  5. How it executes automatically on New IE Malware Captures Passwords Ahead Of SSL · · Score: 3, Interesting

For those of you who don't take the time to read the analysis of the trojan, here's what is said:

The HTML here attempts to exploit a known flaw in Internet Explorer to load and
execute a .chm file. At the same time, it appears to have executed a script on
www.mymaydayinc.com called photos.php. At this point, the packet captures provided
by the victim end, but it is possible to make some intelligent guesses as to what happened
    next.
The victim of the attack found a file called "img1big.gif" had been loaded onto their
machine. Because of the account restrictions on the person running the machine, it had
failed to install properly, which was why it had come to their attention. It is this file that
they forwarded to the SANS Internet Storm Center for analysis.
The file "img1big.gif" is not a graphic file at all. It is actually a 27648 byte Win32
executable that has been compressed using the Open Source executable compressor UPX.
(Hypothesis: the .chm exploit, shown above is likely used to rename and execute this
    file.)

So basically, it allows a CHM file (Compiled Help, used in your standard help files) to auto-install a DLL, which in turn regisers itself as a Browser Helper Object (BHO). BHO's are typically used for things like Browser Toolbars (like the one Google provides).

Microsoft should not allow auto-execution of any file type. It should be an easy fix to IE though.

  14. We don't need another crap rock band! on Non-RIAA Record Companies? · · Score: 1

That's a little too broad of a statement. I think that the electronic music scene has more depth than you think. Indie labels are a majority of the electronic music scene. Most GOOD electronic cds are impossible to find in a commercial record shop. MP3's play a big part of speading new electronic artists' music. Granted napster doesn't provide much help here either, but shoutcasts are. My guess is that you're deathly afraid of the growing electronic scene, and the dwindling number of popular rock bands is becoming more obvious. Face it, rock died with the 20th century.

I have been seeing a physical therapist about my wrist pains. She recommended wrist glides. You sit up straight in a chair with your arm dangling down. Now rotate your forearm so the thumb points out and your elbow cannot rotate any further. Your hand should be fully extended, as if you were making the "stop" hand gesture. Next, lean your head to the opposite shoulder. Now raise your hand until you feel tension in your wrist, bicep, and neck. Repeat this motion 30x, and then do the other side. This should be done 4x a day. It helps relieve tension in the nerves in your wrists.
