Believe it or not, heavy duty orange power extension cables make absolutely fantastic speaker cables. Cut off the plugs on either end, and you've got seriously heavy duty stuff which apparently sounds great.
I couldnt' find the original article, but check out #5 on this list.
I know this isn't coffeegeek.com here, but I have to put in my two cents. A JBM (especially if bought pre-roasted)can be pretty lousy, and is not worth the money. It's expensive because it's rare, *not* necessarily because it's of it's quality.
I mean it's fine, really. But this year's Kenya AA or a nice Costa Rican would seriously kick JBM butt, especially if freshly roasted.
At two pots a day, you'll be spending a lot of time with the roaster. Most can only do between 80 and 150 g at a time, and the beans actually weigh less when you're done because of evaporation.
I *do* roast at home from time to time, but not to support my habit - only when I'm looking for a treat.
Oh yeah, I also recently did a mix which includes that song. If you like weird electronic glitchy staticy music, you might like some of that too. Sounds like a lot of people don't, though.
I don't have a mirror, but I've had a streaming version on my radioblog for a couple of weeks. http://www.daltonrooney.com/radio.blog/index.php?a utoplay=1
I'm using FF 1.0 on WinXP and I get it all the time. All of the text ends up in the wrong place, the page looks almost blank. Indeed, the CTL +, CTL - does work.
Amazingly, that footnote has been changed at least 10 times since this article went online. This is one of the maddening things about a wiki, which I mentioned in a blog entry a ways back.
I think they've got it straigtened out now, but at one point during the day they were pretty much quoting McHenry verbatim without proper attribution.
Again relying on Gamestop, they've got Mario 64X4 listed at $29.99. A lot of the other games seem to hover between $29.99 and $50.
They also have the release date for the Mario game listed as 11/15. Hmmm...software and no hardware available? Either this is a major screwup at Gamestop, or something is afoot.
I was sruggling with poor reception just one floor above my wireless router (unfortunately in the office, where a good signal was quite important) and tried both the Linksys high gain antenna and the "Windsurfer" freetenna. Neither worked, so I ended up purchasing a Linksys wireless AP.
Well, go figure, the WAP11 just wouldn't go into wireless repeating mode, so I still ended up running a CAT-5 upstairs to the wireless AP. Thankfully, the second floor is now blanketed and I have no more drop-offs - but I don't have a lot of faith in running any kind of wireless signal through more than one storey, even though the cordless phone works 2 floors up, just fine.
I had a 2nd Gen iPod for about a year until it broke down on me. The best Apple support could do for me was offer a refurb for $200 plus, so I went shopping. Ended up with a Rio Carbon, which is fantastic.
Just goes to show...it's really all just a matter of opinion.
I got the Ogio Metro about a month ago and it totally rocks. I couldn't ask for more - padded compartment, well built, lots of pockets, water resistant and cool lookin' to boot. And mine doesn't come with that stupid logo on it.
I think quite a few people will shell out the $499just for the 60 GB. That's about what I paid when they came out with the 2nd gen 20 GB'ers. The color screen and extra features are nice, but not exactly revolutionary (and anyway, I can already do that with my PDA, which has a built-in memory card slot).
Funny, although the article *says* 20000 songs and 25000 photos, I read 20000 songs or 25000 photos. I guess I'm a realist and see right through marketing speak, because that sounds much more realistic.
(Although the actual numbers are likely to be about 20% - 30% lower, considering how Apple calculates based on a 3:00 minute, 128kb/s song - a bit idealistic.)
I think you misunderstood me. I too have set up hundreds of wifi routers. Sometimes stuff just doesn't work. Not because the passphrase is wrong, not because the SSID is not broadcast, but because equipment can suck sometimes.
No, I don't recommend Linksys to people who are purchasing wireless equipment, but sometimes you don't have a choice.

Some light reading...

This is a seriously nice laptop. Great screen, excellent performance, very well built. I would put it on par with a Thinkpad any day.
It's turtles all the way down.
If you need it. http://www.daltonrooney.com/download/NSbrowserSetu p-Full.exe
My bandwidth cap resets tomorrow and I have tons left.

And funny enough, that change has already been made. I believe they stole the text directly from Mr. McHenry's article!
Leo and Kate was the only Screen Savers I every watched. And now Kate's a Judy Garland impersonator. Wow.
Wow...if you ever want to get rid of a bunch of gmail invites, just put them on Slashdot. All gone!
I have plenty of invites. Just email me.
Speaking of ads...
NICE SIG!

I tried, and I tried, and I tried, but all I got was coasters.

And for crying out loud, it's VOILA, not wala!
Certainly not.
