  1. It doesn't matter anyway on Retailers Won't Sell New Acclaim Game · · Score: 0

Whether Wallyworld and ToysArentUs sell this game or not, it will probably be a big seller anyway. Anything that generates large amounts of controversy usually sells pretty well. Look at 2 Live Crew and that album that was banned everywhere and had music stores demanding ID upon purchase. That thing sold how many million copies?

I think most of the so-called media are missing the point with this game anyway. It was, at one time, called "Dave Mirra's BMX XXX" until Mirra decided not to lend his name. That tells me there is a solid game behind all the lowbrow humor in there. They hired comedy writers to write the dialogue...all the humor is basically Howard Stern type humor. Howard's demographic is the one that will be buying this game anyway...the funny stuff will be lost on the kiddies.

I've seen several mentions of the nudity involved and how that in Europe it isn't a big deal. They are right..the bare body in America is seen as something terrible and horrifying but yet other things are given a pass. I think everyone needs to lighten up on games anyway. If parents would boot some ass when the kid gets out of line, they wouldn't have to worry about Susie whacking her classmates.

  2. What a bunch of maroons on MAME Ported to (Chipped) Xbox · · Score: 0

Yeah, I'd drop a few hundred to play ancient games that are repetitive and look like shit just to say "I did it on an Xbox". What a sorry bunch of losers who think this is exciting. For being such a "technically advanced" bunch of folks, I can't imagine why you'd rather play something from 20 years ago rather than something modern that does amazing things. Idiots, pure and simple.

  3. Re:Where's the criticism? on Mozilla 1.0 RC2 is out · · Score: 0

This is true...but really, how many people are using the fine pile of code called mozilla anyway? Few...very few. Less than the number of people who use NS6 (the only NS that renders tables right). So it's kind of a moot point.

  4. Hmm..what OS is this software running on? on How to "Open Source" Custom, Contract Software? · · Score: 0

The poster forgot to mention what OS this software is for. I'd laugh pretty hard if it was Windows.

No it's not a cliche...perhaps it became A STANDARD??? Fucking asshole Linux eggheads piss and moan constantly about standards. There's one right in front of you and don't know it. That's scary. And you want to do what to Bill Gates??

  6. So where's he going now? on Alan Cox Attacks the European DMCA · · Score: 0

Well, well, well....old Coxy ran off to the UK because he was afraid of the big bad DMCA. So where can he run to now to bad mouth the USA? I suggest China or North Korea, maybe one of those 3rd world countries that have no knowledge of Microsoft (or phone lines).

  7. Re:Xbox is in trouble on How Microsoft Tried To Buy Nintendo · · Score: 0

BZZZT!! Quit snipping what suits your arguement out of the full text asshole. If you would have been so kind as to quote the rest of that paragraph and the next in that Forbes article, the rest of us would have seen this:

Using the most conservative definition of cash--money in the bank plus investments that can be liquated in three months or less--both Cisco and Microsoft have $5.3 billion in cash on hand. Using a slightly more expansive methodology, Microsoft has the equivalent of $36 billion in cash, reportedly the largest cash hoard in corporate history.

The kicker is that companies like Microsoft and Dell are hardly speculative companies that need a lot of cash to expand their business. Though their investor relations folk will argue the contrary till they are blue in the face, both companies resemble mature businesses. Dell sells PCs, a commodity product. Microsoft is so hungry for growth outside of its core operating system monopoly that it recently took an extremely risky plunge into the videogame console business with the Xbox. But even extremely expensive initiatives like the Xbox, which supposedly cost $500 million in initial marketing costs, aren't going to put a dent in Microsoft's cash pile.

Now, jam that up your Linux-fogged ass and take a seat junior. They aren't strapped for cash. I suppose you really think AOL paid hundreds of billions in cash for Time-Warner too...

...these guys were as close a role model as I could find on television as a kid

As a kid??? Good God how old are you???? And this story got posted....If those bumbling idiots were your role models I feel very, VERY sorry for you. Characters on a TV screen are NOT role models, sorry to break that to you. No wonder suckdot allowed this stench to be posted..they're all just like the poster.

  9. Re:Neato.. but.. on WineX 2.0 · · Score: 1

Yes, look at all the wonderful "free software" games there are on the top 20 lists every month. Games cost millions to produce...does anyone here REALLY believe a community that won't even support it's own monatarily is going to support a REAL company that laid out millions on one piece of software??

I'm laughing so hard I can hardly contain myself...
