I could care less what folks write here. Heck, if you want to say you think the president is a massive mound of poop that has been formed into the shape of a human being and is controlled by millions of flies that buzz their wings in perfect harmony to sound like him talking, go ahead. I don't care.

But, my point is moderation. If you were to moderate the above with "insightful", "informative", "interesting" you are an idiot. You have no descernment over such things. If you moderate it as funny or offtopic, fine. If you moderate it as troll or flamebait, you are probably right on mark.

While I have an inciteful/funny sig, it does not mean that my posts are always flamebait or funny. The sig is a handle, not the content. The content should be moderated as it is.

However, here on slashdot we don't care that "insightful", "informative", "interesting", "funny", "underrated", "overrated", "offtopic", "troll", "flamebait" mean anything. Lets just mark things positive that we agree with and mark things negative which we disagree with. Learn those special words, what they mean, then moderate.

Now, lets review, are you saying that it is accurate to claim that:

This is embarrassing actually. We're not even sure Bush can read without some help sounding-out the big words...

Is Insightful? What insight does this lend to your life? You are obviously already slanted against the president. Has it let you think of him in a new way that will enrich your life? If you answer yes to that you are a very shallow person. Here's a website more up your alley.

So, next time you think you are clever, make sure you are truly clever. It was obvious I think that I did not mean the same "insightful" as you were thinking. And since it was spelled correctly not more than 20 words before, you look like a grammar/spelling nazi.

    Hmmm, it should really be:

    pow(sqrt(-1),3) * T

We can ofcourse assume T as the variable in this function. We could even shorten this to simpley looking at:

    -1 * sqrt(-1) * T

We can do this by assuming I^3 is the same as -I.

You see what you proposed of:

    I2IT

    would really come out to:
    (sqrt(-1) * 2) * (sqrt(-1) * T)

Which we all know would truly be:

    -1 + (sqrt(-1) * T) + (2 * sqrt(-1)) + (2 * T)

    This is obviously wrong:

    -1 + (sqrt(-1) * T) + (2 * sqrt(-1)) + (2 * T) != -1 * sqrt(-1) * T

1.) these are not natural changes, they are human induced.

I don't get this about folks here. Either (a) humans are evolved and part of nature or (b) a God created humans separately and they are not part of nature. Your choice. Either we evolved and are simpley higher up the food chain and evolution will kill us if we over populate like any other species or we are created outside nature.

Personally I like the idea there is a God who created us and gave us dominion over the creatures of the earth. However, that does not mean we go around and make messes. We are stewards, not the demolition crew.

On top of that, its hardly like the humans intentionally brought rats. They happened to live on the boats folks arrived in. So, while human intervention may have been partly cause of the rats, it is not completely.

Now, really into the offtopic arena. I agree with you that we should take a conservative path. There is not reason to waste resources simpley for the sake of wasting them. And on technology, yes we have the ability to do many things. Such as the technology of being able to create boats to travel the seas. However, something completely unforseen was that these rats would wreak havoc on this territory. There would really have been no reason to look for such a possiblity at the point the boats were created.

    Now, consider eugenics.

Whoa there buddy. Something about [/sarcasm] too difficult for you? But, I'll reply you would expect someone who just won my "Good American Citizen" badge for today.

That's all America stands for now - big bombs, corporate fascism and hard-line religious bigotry.

Big bombs. You probably assume that Afghan and Iraq war was all unjust and unprovoked. Whether or not it was, those big bombs and advanced weapons shortened the duration of those conflicts considerabley. Would you rather the millions and millions of deaths from starvation and millions and millions of innocents have been killed? First not, millions and millions of innocents did not die. Period. Show me the numbers, show me the dead from US weapons. I'll show you the dead from hard-line religious bigotry of the muslims in power in the taliban or the mass graves of the shiites who opposed Saddam.

Corporate fascism. There is a lot of corruption within the government, no doubt about it. However, this is a citizen problem, which can only be fixed through citizens. Here in the US the citizens are allowed to peacefully protest laws, are allowed to elect the folks who make the laws, infact become the law makers themselves. While much of the citizenship of the US has become apathetic as shown by recent years elections (50%) you can see that it is the citizens who are allowing this to happen.

Hard-line religious bigotry. How do you consider a constant assult upon religious freedoms within the country hard-line religious bigotry. Perhaps you meant that the bigots are the ones performing this attempt to take away the right of people from expression their freedom of religion? When a teacher is unable to wear a cross, or a symbol of their faith, as a simple peice of jewelry that is not separation of church and state. That is the forced atheism of any who are employed by the state. When the attorney general or president is chided by athiest because the pray, during none work hours during an optional sessions, there is a movement against religion. Hardly hard-line as you propose.

I would offer that you never loved America. Perhaps your fathers who has seen the sleeping giant awoken during the previous world wars loved what America has done. Perhaps you imagined that America was the land of milk and honey, where no work was required for success and that lesiure as far as the eye can see is what it is all about. Wrong. There are many hard working folks in this country. Many labor all their days to achieve what they can for their children. My father in law 2nd generation from the netherlands, who was born in the depression. His father was a farmer and he is a carpenter. He works everyday, except for Sundays. This family has worked for the American dream, and has made it thier own.

The generations that are in the country now have much of their freedom and liberty because of the generations previously. On the shoulders of those we move forward today, our sense of judgement and fairness has weilded their sword, our economy and its basis has made our nation powerful and strong, and our moral character and judgement foundations in our religion.

However, your weeping does nothing, but shed false tears for that which you neither know nor understand. While America may not be perfect, I am glad to be an American. Our country has a history which is to be proud. When folks come to America they see a future for themselves because of the freedoms and liberties that are allowed here.
