3)I suspect the new pricing will be the same as the Upgrade pricing as that's what most people went instead of full retail unless they wanted Ultimate, which includes everything that Pro/Enterprise offered

it would be even better if the full retail version offered the ability to install any of the subsets that make up that retail license. In other words, I'd love a home premium disk allowing me to install Starter without the kernel limitations but as stripped as possible. That would allow me to install my choice of media player, browser and various other apps instead of what MS has "in their infinite wisdom" decided is required by everyone who installs Windows to have.

Simply put, Samsung's lawyers aim to kill Apple's entire legal strategy in all of the U.S. Courts being pursued by Apple.

By invalidating these patents entirely, they kill Apple's biggest legal threat against Samsung with the added benefit of doing the same for most of the other defendents in the States. Hell it may even benefit them in Germany, France other EU countries and such if the patents are invalidated in the States. Thus those lawyers will have definately earned their money for the case.

Yes and the answer is damn simple realy. Block access to any/all cloud storage providers, external smtp servers, email accounts and such at the network edge. If you're going to provide any access to outside services like that, it needs to be on systems that are completely locked down, isolated to their own network and with removable media completely disabled.

Why any company would allow access to these kinds of services w/o a contract is beyond me since it makes it so damn easy for someone to simply copy any important docs and give them to someone who shouldn't have them. Basic Security 101 covers this. If you don't own the system, then it's not authorized and various rules/regs/laws will nail your ass to the wall for violating them.

The installer includes the ability to mount ISO images, so you have little to no problem unless the system is so old that it doesn't have USB ports.
