As a publisher, ad blockers are a serious problem for me. People using ad blockers are taking my bandwidth and cpu time without generating any revenue.
I LIKE firefox and don't want to ban it tho so I'm working on a system to detect users with ad blockers and lock them out of my sites 'till they turn them off.
I don't like locking out visitors, but if they aren't viewing ads they are just a drain on my resources.
I'm all for blocking the horrible annoying popups, but sites have to make money somewhere and there is no practical micropayment solutions out there....infact nothing but paypal and credit card that people will actually use, but with transaction fees too high for small payments.
Many ads pay on the view not on the click. You are still costing the website money by using their bandwidth without giving anything back to pay for it.
As an adsense publisher I thought of this as one of the reasons, but we only get paid if the user installs it (payment is registered on first run) so it can't be just that.
It did. Years ago with all those paid to surf programs, they pretty much killed the ad industry and prices dropped through the floor.
Took quite a while to recover.
Would be nice to have a movie or series about Enzo/Matrix trapped in the games early on. There is a pretty big time gap between him loosing and him grown up. Would be nice to see where he got the gun and artificial eye and stuff.
Windows does support truly temporary files -- its just an under used feature by bad programmers. In fact there are 2 types of them. Mode T and D.
T - Specifies a file as temporary. If possible, it is not flushed to disk. D - Specifies a file as temporary. It is deleted when the last file pointer is closed.
Well I for one welcome our water vapor overlords. Its about time our old icy meteorite overlords were replaced.
We have some very clever linguists and cryptologists that can make sense out of what seems to the average person to be nonsense.
If we were able to find a signal that looked like its something I think we have a good chance of extracting some useful information from it.
I don't think it would be easy. It would probably take decades or even centuries, but I think we could do something useful with it in time.
Very necessary for the ones who see goatse etc.
Music likes being personified.
I use RFC 2549 you insensitive clod.
Space Spaghetti and Spaceballs
FreeBSD development operators on a "advisory 'board' or 'panel'" type structure and it works quite well for them.
iPods don't play MP3's, they play AAC files.
I suspect most adsense money comes from people clicking ads to support the site they are on. I know its the only reason I ever click ads.

If you don't look at the ad the publisher still gets paid. If you block it, the publisher does not.

Finally a solution to goatse
welcome out new complex, self-organized plasma structure overlords.

So you have somewhere to install the game cracks

As much as I hate patent trolls, its nice that they are targeting the much hated Sony.

Duke Nukem Forever is released.
I've also has serious stability issues with mysql (4.x tree) under very high loads. Its replication is horrible under high loads too.

Don't blame windows for bad programmers.
