"My Vista setup had not one single BSOD in over a year of operation. Never. Not once."
I'm still running Win2k on modern hardware and I've never had a BSOD either. I haven't seen any new Windows features in subsequent releases that made me want to upgrade. My entire OS + a few other background processes take a little over 100 Mb of RAM.
So if it's not defined what open access means, how can anyone say that it means net neutrality? It could mean anything and that usually means the definition will be dependant on lobying dollars.
yeah I don't understand how the US legal system works but it looks like if an individual commits fraud, he is a criminal but an individual commiting it in the name of a company can get away with it because the company pays a 50 million settlement. Who gets that money? the state? Cause this awfully look like a bribe. these people should go to jail.
Correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope I am) but since KDE and it's libraries is based on the GPL'ed version of QT, it is itself GPL'ed, which means that you need to GPL your code is you want your app to integrate with KDE..????????
I'm a victim of Bell's throttling as much as the other guys but the main issue here is that this could be compressed to 700Mb and be downloadable in 1/4 the time. The person who put up the torrent apparently is not very familiar with some realities.
Cutting edge graphics and good gameplay are not mutually exclusive things. This comparison is a fallacy. Nintendo went for cheap components because they knew almost no one would buy a Nintendo console if it was prices higher than their competitors, who already had the more street cred with console gamers (i.e. the Gamecube had third position last gen.).
Nintendo's strategy worked this time around because their gimmicky controller and marketing managed to interest a whole new segment of the market to consoles. however, apart from first party titles, almost all the cutting edge, innovative third party games are being developed for PS3 and 360. If you think that those games have bad gameplay just because their graphics are awesome, you are wrong.
It's not about re-purchasing your entire DVD collection. BD players can also read DVDs so there's no point in that. It's about future purchases. If you have the choice between one or the other [when BDs become as cheap as DVDs], BDs will become the default choice.
What doesn't make sense is that buying something with a credit card does not mean you are making that kind of money. It would be much more relevant to report the amount that was reimbursed to the credit card company during a given year.
I hope they make SWT the new standard GUI toolkit for Java and relegate SWING to a legacy technology.
Oh man that was priceless!!
I looked for a version of Wine for Windows to support legacy applications and apparently they don't make a built for Windows. That sucks.
Also bizarre is this fascination for ads.
Er, you mean exactly like Apple does with OS X Panther, Leopard, Tiger...

Once could argue that people who are smaller are more difficult to aim at so they have an advantage over bigger / taller people.

French girl get turned on by the accent actually (those that can understand whatever it is you're saying it at least ;)
Nonsense. The Canadian conservatives are a carbon copy of US Repuplicans. They want to outlaw abortion, reduce gun control, etc.
There's no way in hell that Microsoft would have licensed DirectX to Sony. They would have shot themselves in the foot.
An HDTV can be used as a computer screen. all you need is a wireless keyboard and mouse and you will never want to go back to a desktop screen.
Assuming that everyone is intellectually honest is not a solid foundation.
Ça m'a fait penser à ça aussi :)
If you use Firefox you can also block it:

Amen, I have a lot of nostalgia for UO pks'.

I think the point of hiding it is because it's a government subsidy hidden under the guise of a security policy.
Except that next to no one turns off Javascript when using FF so that argument is moot.
