The 1972 NCMDA study quote was long ago proven to be fraudulent. The NCMDA never made any such conclusions based on the BMJ findings. It is established in over a hundred lab studies that marijuana is a toxic substance.
The British Medical journal is a laughing stock of the psuedo/'New Age' science movement. My friends dead cousin and all the half brain dead stoners I see working in the food court are all the evidence I need to know that marijuana is a poison on our society.
I couldn't agree with you more. This really reflects poorly on the GNU project.
Linking Free Software with a subculture that funds terrorists should not be tolerated. Marijuana causes loss of memory, exacerbates epileptic symptoms, and causes violent and irrational behaviour in people who use it habitually.
My friends cousin was killed in college in a car accident by a driver who had smoked marijuana. He was a top notch programmer in his senior year, and had contributed code to the XFree86 project and the GNU/netBSD kernel. I think his death is a strong mesage to open sources developers on what is morale and what is subversion of a wholesome U.S. culture.
Horrible site. There is a cartoon animated gif moose running, and a WTC message in a scrolling marquee.. Horrible. I am 100% voting against this guy in the next election.
I live in NewHampshire, so in theory if I sent a letter to the senator it would be heard. But I'm not any sort of experienced writter, especialy in regards to political writing. Are there form letters available that clearly express my/our position on this matter and are written in the language of politics? I'd be more then happy to spend the money on a stamp and envelope if such a thing was available.
The Foxrun mall and the surrounding bestbuys etc are even more over run, since it is 5 minutes from maine, and 25minutes from mass. Quite a colorful place to shop =]

Release binaries that are intentionaly compiled to be like 25% slower then if you compiled it from source yourself.
That way, people who just can't/won't compile something theirself can still get it, and everyone else (including those who might want to tinker with the code) will download the source.
Seems like a mostly win-win to me.

Has anyone considered using relay satelites that orbit around the sun.. say past mars or even further. We could use them to pick up faint signals from our outbound probes and relay them with more power back to earth.

Since this seems to be part of some natural healing mechanism, could it be manipulated for use in replacing damaged nerves in the spinal cord?
An injection of marrow derived stem cells into the spine is far more elegant then any bionic solution we could ever develope. (though this is not to say I don't want implant technology to be researched, I've got a shopping list of implants as long as any other geek on/.)

Even when people get their priorities correctly pointed at studying space, they still get it wrong.
This new galaxy cluster was what? Five BILLION light years away?
And we know the exact orbits of what percentage of astroids and commets that could potentialy threaten our only home?
Doesn't it make sense to fully understand your own backyard before you start to study places we won't be going any time soon? I'm not saying it isn't worthwhile, just that there are other higher priority places to study...specificaly the system called Sol.

This is certainly the way to go about this business. Instead of silly experiments like documenting how frogs mate in zero G (=P ) the ISS should have a priority on things such as developing refining and forging techniques in zeroG.
Imagine how quickly and cheaply we could populate the orbits of both earth and the moon with stations for science and habitation if we didn't have the cost of tossing mass out of everyones favorite gravity well.
The ISS coming online made a splash among geeks and the press, but the day the first space metalurgy/refinery factory comes online will be a truely exciting day indeed.

I have to agree that the logs should be made accesible to the parents of students. The logs are legitimate, the equipment is paid for by tax payers, making it property of the public, and is used by the children of the tax payers. If a parent wants this sort of information, there should be no problem. These schools have lots of newer equipment, and at least one CDRW drive per network that could easily be used to provide the large amount of information requested.
I also must say that I am not suprized at the reaction by the administration. This school district in particular is just as weighed down as any of the worst in the country with small people in powerful positions...A bad combination, and in addition to that, they are largely ignorant of the workings of the digital world.

under conventional conditions, a human fetus cannot develope in zero gravity. You'd end up with a blob of a human that would not survive long.
So until we develope a working form of artificial gravity (and a more advanced diaper) there will be no children in space (hey, maybe space really does have potential as a 'vacation destination' !)

/sinb/chkconfig --level 345 rhnsd off

No one is forced to use AIM, and AOL hardly uses anything like microsoft tactics to dominate the IM market. There are tons of other options for IM, and anyone is free to use them, or both. I know tons of people that run icq, aim, and yahoo messanger or others.
This is all just a load of crap being shoved into the publics eye by companies like microsoft and yahoo who don't think its fair for anyone but them to have market dominance.

No such thing as factory overclocked chips. Overclocking is the act of running something beyond its rated speed. Chips are rated at the factory/fab, and fabs don't second guess their ratings.
