I played a parody called "Vice Lords of Catizzle" at Gen Con this year. They just changed the names of everything to be drug/gang references; it wasn't very exciting.
You can't compete with "dirt cheap". Target is doing a good job of competing with Wal-Mart at the moment. To compete with low cost you have add value to your product.
For example my company has a programming group in India that may all be unemployeed soon. They have gotten sloppy and lazy. If you don't have a quality product price advantage won't last.
Not that high price is good; look at the American auto companies.

Funny how everyone here hopes that the general public is unhappy with Vista so they will switch to something else Everyone here doesn't do this. Did the original poster? Did you bother to check? I think the respondent use of "everyone" falls under hyperbole, but the bashing and general hatred of Vista is very widespread on/. For the record I do hope all the Vista users are miserable. Its a bad system and proof that monopoly leads to stagnation. If enough people vote with their wallet MS might be forced to make a decent OS.
But, if you have the gall to hate something that is en vogue, then all of the sudden there's something wrong with you. You didn't just express hatred of Apple products, you expressed your desire that people who like Apple have bad things happen to them. That's a might different from complaining about the operating system in a public forum. I did not imply bad things should happen to apply users. I do not want them to be subject to identity theft, run over by a bus, etc.. I do want them to suffer miserable service for drinking the Steve Jobs brand Kool-Aid.
Who needs "sex" when you can just sell hype. I hope the Apple drones all get locked into a horrible network just like with the iPhone. The ATT/Apple tax is the new Windows tax.
I got to see alot of the models and sketches for this at the Media Lab last January. I look forward to the final product. It could do alot to change urban traffic patterns and pollution in city centers.
Also they have more Lego's than God at the Media Lab...that is orgasmic.
The Star Wars Intellectual Property would be a big help in going up against Blizzard in the MMO market. Releasing a StarCraft MMO would probably be a bad counter by Bliz as to would more likely canabalize the WoW customer base.
There is room for more than one good MMO in the market, heck, the competition might drive Blizzard to make a better product.
