As I recall, basselopes could bound into Russia, their 2-foot height well beneath conventional radar. Their antlers combined with a large rubber band made a great bomb delivery method.
But I think the general idea is that too much is at stake this time around, and we need to have definitive votes for real candidates so the Democratic Party can circle the wagons and put a well-supported candidate out there.
Unfortunately that's been the argument each and every election. EVERY election there's just.. too much at stake this time around. There always has been and always will be 'too much at stake' to make the right choice and vote for the candidate you like the most. And that's why things don't change.
If the government did decide to take over ratings (once again, a move wrought with negative 1st amendment issues) they couldn't outright ban anything without a very fundamental shift in constitutional law.
Are you sure about that? What about obscenity laws?
I'm going to have to call them soon anyways as the LAN port on the (rented) modem seems to be dying off occasionally. I'll be in the middle of an instance, and the connection just drops, no activity at all. Needless to say, the power lines don't help the connection, but I'm pretty sure the connection isn't great to begin with.
This happens to me too on my DSL connection. For no reason the connection will, on occasion, just drop for a few minutes.. and then it will be back. Now, this used to happen years ago when I had a dynamic IP and PPPoE. After I upgraded to a static IP (no PPPoE), I noticed the problem disappear. Recently, AT&T made me switch my connection to a static IP using PPPoE (bleugh). Hey hey... that old dropped connection problem is back.
XBL would be great if you didn't have to deal with the multitude of retards on XBL. In the meantime, it's about the same as all those other crappy online services.
I think it could very well be considered murder from the legal standpoint. If you can go out to an empty field, start a fire, some homes get burned, and a fireman is killed while fighting a fire at one of those houses, the arsonist can be charged with murder, not just manslaughter. It's happened in my home state at least once this year. Redirecting a swat team to someone else's house would be an even stronger case.
Although I'm not the moderator, when I've used the 'overrated' tag before it's been to counteract a post that did not deserve to be moderated up. There's really no -1, Wrong moderation to correct an Informative-moderated post that was not all that informative.
Or what, exactly is your opinion ? (and please don't bring up the lame excuse "it hasn't been proven"... to the satisfaction of just about every psychologist in america it HAS been proven)
Well hey, if OeLeWaPpErKe on Slashdot says it, it must be true!
Mr. Wheaton is 35, though in fairness he can pass for younger if he wanted. However, he's not *THAT* young looking.
Alternative half-serious explanation: "Wait, is that who I think it is? Nah.. couldn't be... hmm, maybe it is. I'd better card him just to see if it... OMG, it IS him!"
My actual final answer to your question is yes, if you can't obtain financing or pay up front for what you need, you don't get it. Financing can come from (voluntary) insurance, from charitable organizations, from friends and family. If that's not available - and I recognize that it often is not - then you don't get treatment.
Fortunately (and this is coming from someone who occasionally has libertarian leanings too), we have collectively decided that that is an inferior way to operate a society. Those with great affluence are allowed to live, and others get to kick the bucket or suffer through deadly diseases without treatment because they live on the wrong side of the tracks? No.
Look, you're not on a hunger strike, in fact I'd guess the average weight of the Linux fanbase is much higher than the general population, you're not giving up anything,
I'm not sure about that, man, there are a lot of really skinny nerds who use Linux (I'm one of them..)
Maybe it's because the word "hero" is referring to a specific title instead of a description of the person? Hero == someone called him a hero. "Hero" == given some title "hero" that an organization made up. To avoid confusion he should have used double-quotes around the phrase "CNN hero" instead.
"He repairs discarded computers and gives them to people who otherwise could not afford one."
That sounds suspiciously like the "well, I wouldn't have bought that album I just downloaded anyway, so no one's losing money" argument often used about file-sharing which many sharers proclaim and the entertainment industry strongly denies. It's not quite the same thing since nothing is getting pirated, but I wonder if the software industry would try to make a similar claim.
However, the person who owns the code - the copyright holder, can release his GPLed code to the BSD project under the BSD license whenever he wants. It's a bit trickier though when the code is owned by multiple people.
Apple doesn't break into peoples' homes and smash their iPhones with hammers. The owner of the iPhone is CHOOSING to install a software update, an update Apple has sent out warning will not be compatible with 3rd-party hacks.

And yet despite that, he was the only candidate I felt was actually honest and trustworthy except perhaps for crazy Ron Paul.
Oh dear God, I hope this was the actual conversation, word for word, and not a comparison.

Plus, she's got... huge tracks of land!

Standard == what is popularly used out there for media on the 'net, not necessarily what an RFC or an ISO has blessed.

I'm not sure whether this should be Funny or Insightful, but that second line is damned true.
Ah, good catch!
Damn you, Garth Brooks!
This guy really is heroic!! James, you have my vote!

With the former you can still use your computer with XP SP1. With the latter you're far worse off than when you started.
