  1. Kzoo is a good place to grow up in on High-Tech Start-Ups Put Down Roots In New Soil · · Score: 1

I grew up near Kalamazoo, and can attest that it's a great place to raise a family. I would have considered working there if they only had more tech jobs. I'm pleased to see their name in the running on Slashdot and WSJ. Michigan is much more than Detroit.

  2. Yes! After 6 yrs of working, I am going for one. on Go For a Masters, Or Not? · · Score: 1

Out of college, I worked 6 years at a small business contractor for the DoD. I still like my job and love the interesting work. A Master's degree will help me win more proposals for my company, and give me more opportunities to do more interesting work as a Principal Investigator. My employer is supportive and is letting me take a leave of absence. So it's a win-win from my perspective.

Take a poll and I think many would agree with the parent comment: New Yorkers are awfully provincial people. I would agree with you though that they are not the only folks like that in the world.

I disagree. Hanging it under makes it too easy to rip before getting enough squares. Hanging it over is more efficient for getting five or six squares with a soft tug. This is especially true for thin rolls (1-ply or 2-ply).

Butchering the English language like this is not just ugly but hard to read. It looks like output from some kind of text compression algorithm.

I thought this ban was for the safety of the bystanders: to keep PDAs and Smartphones from dropping out of the pockets of roller coaster riders. Those devices are kind of heavy compared to wallets.

Gen Y'ers are having their mid-life crises earlier in life than their parents. They crave meaning over advancement. We just try to live the kind of lives that our parents regretted they did not.
