Calm down. People who have been moderated up enough times in the past have +1 to their comments' scores as a Karma Bonus Modifier. You can change this for your profile, which would drop a bunch of the +2s you see down to +1.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhh. Thanks for pointing that out. It's time for me to RTFM.
Why does every comment here have a score of exactly two minutes after the article was posted?
Is it standard practice to mod up your own comments here. FUCK THIS.
This seems like it could be really confusing for users being bounced around domains everytime they change pages. Then again the hip browsers are hiding the URL bar by default so wtf do I know anymore...
How do you guys think this would work? What would brands use different domain names for if the extension is the brandname? Would it be for different geographic regions? different pages? different languages?
Think even further. Think social doorbell
So you could create facebook integrated doorbell profiles and share them with your friends. Share ringtones and cool doorbell widgets. Doorbell buttons and themes! Add B2B and advertising features and ring my bell! step into my office baby!
We have to learn from our mistakes, but it goes against the age old geek ideal. While the garden has been turned into a corporate gear in a fantastically scary machine, it has enriched so many lives and only begun to fulfill its potential. In the end it is just another concept and the potential of a concept expands when realized for both greed and altruism.
Let's rinse and repeat and with our wisdom relish the next golden age.
I read it and I found it very informative. There's obviously validity in the "hire a professional" argument, but I'm not a network admin and would like to learn how they work/ good practices, which is why I'm reading this thread.
Thanks for the tips!
Which seems to be about every other website these days, since so many people (Satan spawned marketers) think it's a good idea to integrate facebook with their website...
If your phone is jailbroken SBadblock will block ads across all applications... Sadly you don't have very much GUI control over the "host" file. But you can edit it via terminal.
Just a couple jailbroken exculsives are savvy it and will not run an app unless it's disabled. It only takes two clicks to toggle it and these apps a 1/100.
No you're not the only one that this mentality is alien too. I've recently successfully cultivated these feelings inside myself by playing civ 4. I'll trick my opponents any way I can to get my way. Micro manage my people to squeeze every drop of productivity from them. Even if I've already won, dominated my opponents on to a 1x1 square desert island I still gain satisfaction taking what little they have and nuking them for kicks.
I've come to the conclusion that most of government and big business would be best managed at the highest levels by pubescent males with a strong mind for civ. It's just a big complicated game of risk and reward.
For being the face of Vulcans, All those groovy spaced out 60's go go records and for all that voiceover work through the years. Especially Civ4. Thanks for doing what you do!
Those Australians really seem to have a superb understanding of computing technology...
Not only is it the most expensive, it's most likely the least functional... I'm betting with in 1 year digital textbook downloads will be over $100 per ebook, since students will only be able to get them through the publisher at the app store.
It seems like a bad idea to operate any type of heavy machinery under the influence of any mind altering substance. Yet the countless mind bending pharmacutials all that is required is a small warning stating such on the side of the pill container. It's obvious when someone should/shouldn't be driving. Why is this any different?
I really miss the humor of the older titles. There was nothing like hijacking an airplane that was already playing "ain't nuttin but a g thang" only to nose dive it into a group of elvis impersonators and jump out at the last second with a rocket launcher. "maybe gun control woulda been a good thing huh?".
The new one is slightly too realistic for my tastes. When I first started playing it, going on urban rampages even felt a little bit fucked up and wrong since people would limp away and beg for their lives. Also there are no airplanes and flamethrowers. I love how silly and expansive GTA SA was.
I agree. Looking at the top 10 torrents (best seeded) on the "most popular" private music torrent sites (each with over 100,000 users) a small segment is on major labels. Those that are on a major label are quite old and not heavily marketed to the youth anymore. Like Miles Davis- Bitches Brew. Meanwhile acts like the Black Lips, Blue States and bed room dj DJ frane are dominating the top 10 lists. These trackers place no restriction or bias on the type of music or copyright of the music torrented.
While this does not represent the general cross section of people using torrents, it does represent what happens with bittorrent "communities". People discuss, share and promote artists that are fresh and interesting.
Unfortunately gaining access to these private communities requires a slight bit of savvy not present in the general population yet, so I am sure that biases the poll. However if it were not for the legal status of these sites in many countries the barrier to entry would be 0.
I would have to guess because facebook would like to know what site the user visits, how long they were there, and to take a moment to download their browser history and config.
It's required to make use of drum editing and multitrack syncing. If I were to record garage rock album i would throw everyone in the same room and just play the songs. However to leverage much of the flexibility and power of a digital recording you need a click.

Except now people can sync their encrypted locally stored password files across devices. I use 1password on OS X and sync it to my phone.

Here is it. An open source answer to flash. Like Gimp to Photoshop. Here it is.
That's gonna be effective...
