Did the amazing Amiva conversion of Bomb Jack make it to slashdot recently? That is seriously impressive and beats the hell out of the Elite conversion. If you have an amiga then you just tty it!
This is along with various other bits and pieces that turn my MATE linux desktop into something that is virtually indistinguishable from Windows XP!
Why have I done this? I was bored the other night and there's something slightly amusing about running an i7 8700 CPU with 16gig RAM using Linux...all looking like an ancient Microshaft OS!
I listened back in 2009 when all you guys told me Bitcoin was pointless. A couple of years later I thought for myself and got hold of a few...which are now worth 20X that amount...oh and any initial 'fiat' investment has since been taken out and I still have thousands of $$$ worth! So to all the naysayers - I have bitcoin, it didn't cost me anything and I'm happy.
Agreed. I've only ever used GIMP for simple graphical stuff (used to be backend web dev and sometimes tinkered with images instead of asking the 'pros' to do it in PS). Everything I needed to do (resize, cut bits n bobs, move stuff around) all was easy to do. I tried the same in PS and was like "dunno how to do anything". I think PS'ers complain about GIMP because they're not used to it. Same as Windblows users who 'can't use' linux because it's 'too hard'. It's just different.
That is actually pretty scary. Imagine all children being given this at birth in a small enough dose that it doesn't make them trip out. So now they have a permanent colony of these things and due to the tolerance will never be able to enjoy mushroom tripping again.
Yep, the high fees of btc are a bitch at the moment. My personal (and slightly tin-foil-hat) belief is that it has been infiltrated by either people wanting to make money from side-chains OR people (read: government) who want to see it fail.
A simple increase in the blocksize would fix the high fees instantly as more transactions could be handled in a single batch.
Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on Bitcoin by any stretch, so please feel free to correct me...unless you're one of the two types of people mentioned.
Oh yes, I forgot about all the stuff I've bought along the way with it, mobile phone, graphics card, motherboard, cpu, memory...and loads of e-liquid etc.
Oh really? Damn, I thought I was clever for buying some, waiting for it to rise, cashing out my initial investment and still being left with a few btc. My bad, obviously an idiot.
...I installed the linux version of this a couple of days ago so I could see what people at my old job are listening to (we had a shared playlist that everyone could add to). All went well and I could see they were (still) listening to crap music. But later I started getting facebook crap in my inbox and I deactivated that rubbish years ago. It seems that it cheekily reactivates facebook. Not happy at all.
Your lack of understanding of this amazes me. I've been reading your comments on Slashdot for years and thought you were an intelligent guy!
Anyway, I don't think the value that people give to bitcoin is entirely delusional as you seem to state. It's value, I believe, is in the fact it can be used to transfer value safely over the internet without a 3rd party - well an 'aware' 3rd party that allows or disallows it. It's free from the the control of the banks, nobody can just decide to 'print more bitcoin' on a whim.
It may be mostly built on illegal markets and speculation currently but that will change as it becomes more accepted and trusted. I spend it whenever I can but my choices are limited...so it's mainly Steam games! (I do not use illegal markets...and I'm not just saying that to stop the NSA from tracking me...not that it will)
This is absolutely 100% true. It brings up whatever filth your sordid mind desires - and shows related filthy searches, so you can travel on a filthy trail to whatever end. It's quite disgusting and fantastic at the same time. Works great for images and videos alike. It's the greatest thing microsoft has created.
I don't give a toss if it hasn't "caught on". I have a DK2 and it's great fun, worth every penny. Even if most of the stuff I can use it with is demo's or just interesting little toys. It's fun. Lot's of fun.
If you haven't tried it then I suggest doing so but you will need a fast computer to get the most out of it.
His saying that he would open source MC eventually pissed me off. Now, the game I have loved for several years is in the hands of fucking microsoft! Microsoft of all the fucking companies. how long before linux is dropped? All development has gone into the windows version since Microsoft acquisition. If he was so desperate to get rid of it why not open source the fucker and keep making money anyway.
Nah, respect has gone down hugely with this fella...though I still love Minecraft:-)
Looks like the Mandelbrot set in 3D!
I would be interested in learning what good reasons people don't like Thunderf00t for?

Had my eldest at 29 and he's pretty 'geeky' and loves science.
It's for their school cafeteria and I told my wife that I didn't want it done but apparently I was being "paranoid".

The sun is a mass of incandescent gas, a gigantic nuclear furnace...not
But it also has a value because you can buy things off the internet with it, surely?
And as for it getting stolen, eventually people will learn that exchanges are not banks and it's up to yourself to look after your private keys.

It's not hypocritical to _not_ steal somebody's wallet or bike is it? Surely it just means he's not a massive cunt?
Please explain?
+1

Hmmm, haven't seen much movement the Raspberry PI version of minecraft...erm, EVER!
I dislike crime as much as the next man but this worries the hell out of me.
It's been years since I've read the old hot-gri-covered Natalie Portman meme. Thanks :-)
