    Or at least make use of a limited window of time when lots of people know that there is a new bill design coming, but few people have actually seen one. Perhaps the counterfeiters should just make something up; their design might be better than the feds and gain more acceptance.

    of circumstances where any viewpoint other than roughly straight on is impractical - for example looking at someone through a tunnel, or someone a long way off through a telescope where to get any viewpoint from a significantly different angle would take a lot of walking. Presumably it works just fine then.

    If only they would consistently be traffic. In my town they switch at will from being "traffic" to being "pedestrians" giving them free reign over the streets and the sidewalks and apparent immunity from all traffic laws. They are a menace to pedestrians when on the sidewalk and their behavior on the road is frequently appalling.

    If unix had been chosen, leaving aside all the technical reasons why not posted above. It would now enjoy the same popularity with malware writers as Windows enjoys today. Enterprises would have emerged that sold solutions to these just as they have for Windows. I don't see what would have changed; except that Linus Torvalds would about now be ready to launch "Lindows Mojave" that we all love and vaunt.

    I have a smart, but not gifted, 2nd grade son and he and I used to enjoy doing similar math puzzles. Unfortunately I really think it taught him to expect more from math than the school was prepared to deliver, and led to a great deal of frustration for him with the teacher in class. The school is pretty good for above-grade readers, just a few slip ups when the kids get books from the school library with too-mature themes for their grade level. But when it comes to math, you must be in lockstep with the curriculum. If the 3rd grade teacher is better I might try again, but for now I'm giving it a rest.
