i'm a mac user, so i'm not too familiar with windows and IE. however, i am under the impression that the problem with IE is mainly the fact that it is so tightly integrated with windows, that a lot of the holes in IE are made much more serious because of said integration. a fairly pedestrian exploit can actually cause a lot more damage.
camino is a native OS X app, whereas firefox does not feel as if it is. firefox is a great app, but it's got a ways to go before it unseats camino as my main browser. with forms autofill, a new tab system, and OS X spell check all on the way in the next camino, i'm really excited about what the future holds for this app.
... as i bought a 12" last tuesday from the apple store. i recieved it on saturday, thereby making it absolutely certain they would release a new model the next business day:)
now, the fun of trying to see if i can switch to the new model - it's a BTO, so we'll see what happens.
exactly. you don't need admin rights to delete files in your user directory. so your documents, music, movies, etc are fair game. now applications, and the system folder should be safe.
you can only burn the exact same playlist 10 times. but, you can easily make another playlist and put the songs on there again and you're good to go. i guess this was put in to avoid mass duplication on CD's.
i think the important thing is that, in 3 years, other OSes will have made huge strides to at least "catch up" in some areas they are lacking right now.
hopefully, this will level the playing field a bit, and give more marketshare to Macs and other *NIX based OSes.
not on the mac though.... i agree opera on windows is a top notch browser - but the mac version is well behind other FREE alternatives right now.
i'm glad to see opera developing on the mac platform - it's great to see so many competing browsers for a change - but i just don't think they have what it takes to be considered even one of the top 3 browsers on the mac right now.
this service is for maybe 1/4 (mac OS X users) of 75% (US apple owners) of 5% (apple users total v. other platforms) of the total installed computer user base.
i'd say 2 million songs sold with those things taken into account is pretty good...
McAfee has released Virex 7.2.1, which no longer overwrites the main Fink directory/sw. Fink users should continue to avoid Virex 7.2.
Early reports indicate that upgrading Virex from 7.2 to 7.2.1 still leaves some problems however. If you upgrade Virex with Fink not installed, and subsequently wish to install Fink, you will need to delete the/sw directory by hand before installing. And if you upgrade Virex with Fink already installed, you should immediately run

is this correct, or just heresy?

the latest flaw is apparently only a 10.3 problem, hence the 10.3 only update.

using 10.2.6 - not saying it's not a real bug, just can't get it to crash my screen-saver.
