    And what's wrong with an artist showing off her ass? Can you only be a respectable artist if a) you write your own songs, b) sing well and c) don't look too hot?

    You're probably also someone who says beauty pageants suck because they exploit the girls, but deep at night, download gigs of porn.

    Actually, I do not link bash_history to /dev/null.

    I've been compromised once, and the attacker went through great length to install a rootkit in /tmp/../foo , grep his IP out of the message logs, etc. etc. The only thing that he forgot to do was remove the bash_history file, and I knew _exactly_ what damage he had done to my system.

    Yesterday, life was easy. Microsoft bad, SCO bad, IBM good, Linux good.

    Then suddenly my world gets put upside down with RMS responding against SCO. Now what? Should I side with SCO because nothing good comes out of RMS's mouth? Should I side with RMS and his GNU/Linux FUD that fragments the OSS community?

    I'm confused!

    In the US, and previously in the Netherlands, we have 10c, 25c, while most countries (including the new Euro) have 10c and 20c.

    In NL, we actually did the 2.5 thing all the way:
    5c 10c 25c coins (no 1-cents fortunately)
    1 2.5 5 guilder coins
    10 25 50 100 250 1000 guilder bills

    I wonder what is more efficient, the 1/2/5 or 1/2.5/5 system.

    I never ever pay attention when renting a DVD and 50% of the time, I end up with the widescreen version at home, against my will.

    I wouldn't be surprised if most of these wide-screen-renting folks are like me and just too lazy/lame/forgetful to pick the right aspect ratio.

    Well, they conned you, didn't they. You're the one helping Microsoft keep their market position by developing software for it. If you don't like them, then do not get a job in Microsoft application development! And, by the way, copying a 2k dll over a dll in XP, yeah, that's a swell solution!

    My first reaction was to mod you down as a troll, but instead I'll reply.

    • It's hard to read a PDF when you printed directions to take with you in your car
    • The embassy that I'm applying for a visa at doesn't take PDFs, just paper
    • While I know that PDF has the capability of editing in place, I still prefer a pen and paper when it comes to proofreading dodumentation
    • The vi quick ref card that I printed and put up next to my monitor is more useful than switching to the webpage everytime I forget an option.

    Just 4 things I printed just this morning...

    luckily PDFs as well as Microsoft Word files

    I don't see why that is 'lucky', they're both closed source formats! No PDF viewer on my linux desktop!!! It's EVIL!

    (luckily for me, I don't run a linux desktop, because it would impair my work too much, I just run Windows, with MS Word + Acrobat reader)

    I think you mentioned a link to your _webserver_ in your previous post. You didn't mention where your _shellserver_ was hosted. Of course I didn't just assume that you would run your shellserver and webserver from the same IP. Maybe the same physical box, sure, but in that case I'm sure you seperated the process and IP spaces correctly.

    P.S. You should fix all those spelling and grammar errors on your website, it looks rather immature with those.

    Update: 01/23 16:00 GMT by M: Comments were disallowed when this story was originally posted; fixed now. My mistake (although KDE3's stupid mouseover-activates-form-elements user interface, now finally fixed in the latest versions, has to take some blame too).

    I don't want to sound like a troll, but at least in IE this problem doesn't arise. It's nice to use Open Source software and all, but with this many bugs still open, I'll stick to IE, it's fast, and most webpages are written for it, anyway.

    Note to moderators: Sure, mod me down, everytime someone brings up that IE might be better than an OSS product, it MUST be troll!
