I am American and have no problem eating sushi or seaweed. I have eaten sushi in both the states and in Japan. I am wondering tho, could it be the amount of wasabi used? According to my Japanese father-in-law who is a Sushi chef, wasabi helps kill bacteria that sushi contains.
I bought both LBP and Mirrors Edge, LBP I had been following for a while and actually bought my PS3 because there was a good game besides MGS4. Mirrors Edge on the other hand, I tried the demo after hearing about it from a friend and bought it because I liked it. I would probably not have bought Mirrors Edge had I not played the demo.
iTunes always has contained your personal info, even if you rip your own mp3 from a CD, it puts all your account info in the mp3. Which is just plain stupid.
DRM is easy enough to strip off of music from iTunes, but why would you want it anyway. The real problem is that they are charging you for low bitrate crap. I can just go bit torrent or get stuff off of new groups if I wanted to that is ripped at a higher bitrate. And whats the deal with me not being able to re-download stuff that I bought if I deleted it!? They have a record of what you purchased, its a simple database field for crying out loud! I like how the wii does the VC, I pay a decent price for a game, it belongs to me, and I can delete it and re-download it as many times as I want to. Steam/Valve has also done an excellent way of protecting their stuff without screwing over the customer.
Actually in the Japanese version of the game, the manual says in romanized characters (thats english alphabet for those that dont know) it is spelled with a 'th' not an 's'. And this should prove that her name is infact Aerith not Aeris. The issue is the fact that the english translation chose to change the name. This is not an uncommon thing, as we see changes being made to characters names all the times in games (Tina = Terra; Mash = Sabin FFVI), (Vega = M. Bison Street Fighter II) I could go on...
a few years ago I worked for Sprint and they have (or at least had)something like that in place, most sprint customers have what is called a spending limit, which was based off of your credit score or something, if you racked up more charges than your spending limit then your service was shut off, this of course resulted in angry customers who had no idea about their account spending limit. One big flaw of the thing was that if your new bill posted and even though it wasnt due for a month and your payment had not posted from the current bill, your service would more than likely be shut off. But hey its better than paying a 20k phone bill.
Im glad I wasnt the only one that thought that...whew.
I guess I'll see it anyway, its kinda like a bad car wreck, you know you shouldnt look, but you cant help but do so.
BTW they had better put in the Lords Of Acid speed racer song in that movie or Im going to be mad.
I'm in my 30's and still get at least one set every Christmas (always have), and usually buy a few during the year. Im still trying to convince the wife that I need to get the $300 and $500 Star Destroyer and Millennium Falcon sets (^_^).
Wow finally some one on here with a brain. Flash is not only for pop-ups people! I am a flash/flex developer and it is a blessing in the world of rigid html, and css that acts differently depending on what browser you are using. Flash is great for online apps (and now desktop thanks to Adobe AIR) as well as great interactive sites. Unfortunately flash gets a bad wrap because it is used for pop-ups and other annoying things, but hey, I could say the same thing about javascript. Ive never had a browser crash because of flash, but i have plenty of times with quicktime! Anybody that knows there stuff with flash can create great things with it, unfortunately these are few in america, but there are plenty of major companies in Japan that make beautiful works with their flash/actionscript. (check out sony.co.jp or any nubmer of subsites found on square-enix.com/jp the Final Fantasy IV site is very well done). Any way I just decided to stick up for flash because knowing this community, there are very few that do.
Amen, I actually got to see this in the theater as well (went twice), what a great cut, and it has been cleaned up beautifully!! Sounds like half of the complainers on this thread havent even seen it. Just remember this is the one that Scott actually had total control over. Cant wait for the Blu-ray, after seeing it in the theater I put in my Directors cut DVD in and it looked like they transfered it from a VHS source. I highly recommend this version, even if you own or have seen all the others.
Agreed, We should have seen the future of the star wars films with the ewoks. Sure it was cool and funny when I was a kid, but now when I rewatch the real originals (not the special defects versions) Jedi is the worst of the original three. Star Wars ended after Empire Strikes back.
Drop CMYK support!! Haha, you must be joking because the whole print industry standard is CMYK! Also while I'm posting for all you GIMP supporters out there, anybody that is in the industry (design and the like) use photoshop and there is a reason for it. I used GIMP for one day two years back because my company only had a license for PS 5.5 available, and I went back to 5.5 because it was better. Thank goodness I have a copy of CS3 to use now.
I had to do the same with my PS2, I import my Final Fantasy games and others that would not make it to the states because I simply don't want the poor English translation or crappy dubbing. I'm glad that Sony finally got it together with the PS3 and is allowing Japanese games to be played on the American system (don't remember if it will be the same for UK versions). Although it was a nice sub feature of my mod chip to allow me to play some burned games, The main reason was to support my importing habbits.

"Whoa, Jet" and I'm sure, knowing the American movie studios, that Kanno will not be doing any of the soundtrack.

Which is the exact opposite of Bolls commitment to quality, weird....
