    On any other road you're allowed to drive as slow as you want, even if it's as slow as a pedestrian.

    Then you get done for dangerous driving, as you're doing 4mph on a road with a posted limit of 40mph.

    I couldn't care less if I get drug tested because I don't use them.

    I don't use them, but I care for other people. It's bad because it punishes people who don't do drugs simply because there are people that do. Much like the TSA.

    Don't know about you, but I'd rather be certain the pilot of the plane I'm on is drug-free. If that means random testing, then so be it.

    That's the benefit of a fixed hardware platform - you know exactly what's running on it. That means you don't have to compromise on performance, like you sometimes do with a PC.

    The PS3 only has 256 megabytes of RAM compared to the 360's 512 megabytes.

    It's not as simple as that - PS3 has 256MB CPU RAM and 256MB GPU RAM, where the 360 has 512MB shared by both CPU and GPU. In real terms, the memory available is more or less equal.

    I bet those people who were at the Batman premier that were attacked by that gun wielding psycho are sure glad their phones weren't disabled so they could call the emergency services.

    Except it's a legal requirement that all handsets must be able to dial emergency numbers, regardless of their settings, or even if they have a SIM card or not.

    The problem is you've completely missed my point, which was that it's not anti-science to express caution when doing something that could have severe wide-ranging effects. At no point did I ever state one way or another whether such an act should occur.

    Calm down... You can keep it - sure. (Whether it still works is another question. ;-)

    IIRC, Java's only used for LibreOffice Base - the rest will work fine without it.

    It's a press release - it uses units the general public is most familiar and comfortable with. For everyday activities, the difference between metric and imperial is about as significant as a single drop of water in the Pacific Ocean.
