    I interpreted it the same way as hedwards. "Opt-out by default" means that you are opted-in by default, so you need to opt out. "Opted-out by default" would mean the opposite, which you describe.

    Exactly. They also need to specify before purchase whether or not the specified app includes DRM, so the user can determine if the app is viable for all of their required uses.

    In the GIMP, the layer you made 50% transparent turns opaque while you try to resize it, so you can't see how to line up the layers. What a mess.

    You simply did not utilize the many settings that are directly presented to you in the toolbox when you select the scale tool. There's an opacity slider so you can set the transparency to whatever you want.

    They can barely handle people with dark, especially black, skin.

    If dark-skinned people have such a hard time with facial recognition scanners, perhaps they should hire light-skinned people to follow them around and use the scanners for them.

    Personally, I'd check the Mushroom Kingdom for plumbers. I know a couple of guys there that work pretty cheaply, if you don't mind their use of mushrooms every now and then.

    ...am I the only one who finds their ads creepy? Especially the "stolen car" ad?...

    I thought so too, and I'm still pulling the OnStar fuse in my Camaro, but it was a relief to hear a story about another Camaro-owner in a nearby town. He outran the cops, but OnStar would not activate the vehicle slowdown because the car wasn't stolen. So at least the OnStar people don't turn in their clients like ISPs do, at least this time.
