    For starters, hardware that handles VoIP should be taking advantage of the TOS bits, and setting their packets for Minimum Latency. Secondly, QoS implementation should be taking advantage of this "opt in priority request" This is exactly the sort of situation that TOS, traffic class, and so on were designed for.

    Wireless security is more about preventing unauthorized usage of a network. i.e., the deeds that can land you in trouble with the feds or the RIAA. You still need a firewall on your local machine, since apart from the internet you also have peers on the local lan.

    Even if we take the entire human population there's way too much ocean to boil, and water has one of the highest latent heats of vaporization of any known substance.

    I think the damage we're doing by not letting market forces punish and deter bad banking will eventually outweigh the damage done by pulling the plug and letting the rich guys eat losses.

    Mind you, I think that we should cover depositors 100 percent and THEN let the banks fail.
