That's right. You pay some money each month and you get a fair amount of datatransfer each month. I think that is reasonable for both side. For the consumer side it is reasonable because they don't have to worry about caps(which bite) or varying costs(which bite even harder). For the ISP it is reasonable because they know how much the users can use at most and they know how much datatransfer to facilitate. If someone surpassing fair use they need to be charged heavily for that. It is stupid that networks bulge under the datatransfer of a small group who screw it up for the rest. So you probably get about 100 GB per month. If you surpass this limit regularly you need to get your ass kicked. I do NOT want a varying cost. It has been the main reason to switch from dail-up to cable. At one time we were spending in excess of 100 each month on the internet for a crappy connection. Now that we have cable, these problems have never arisen since I keep an eye on my traffic usage. Don't go back into the stone age, keep my fixed rates.
I didn't exactly know if this was sarcasm or not. The fact that I encountered a lot of people with these kinds of opinions made me think you were the real deal. When trying to be sarcastic, never be too authentic, it might seem real.

Finally, the bigger browsers are ACID2 compatible now. But suddenly those fuckers release a new ACID test. Now everybody's standard incompatible again. Let's see who succesfully implements ACID3 first.
After all, in a democratic country, if a very large percentage of the population willingly infringes a law, there is a very strong case that the law is wrong, not the people. Truth by majority? Is that how we define truth these days? The fact that the majority infringes a law only says that people ignore the law. It doesn't influence it's validity.
People drive too fast all the time. I mean, who hasn't had a ticket for speeding? However, that doesn't mean that they aren't doing the right thing. They are putting people in jeopardy this way. I can't count the times that I have been nearly hit by a car that was driving WAY too fast and too reckless.
Cars are not without blame either. I bet that a significant portion of those accidents are caused by drivers who are speeding, driving under influence or a combination of both.
True. But it's one less danger. And that's good enough for me. I mean, why be worried if children cross the streets safely if they can die in a car crash? Because it's one risk you don't take.
Nightmares are basically a traumatic event. You want to forgot the most of them but some still hunt you, even decades later. If this was a vr training simulator, it would probably fall under torture by inducing traumas.

True, but when I read it I was a bit startled.

I don't think you understand how huge the EU market is. If MS doesn't release any software into the EU you can expect a BIG shareprice drop.
Chess? You are surely lucky. I was only able to play Senet.
Won't somebody think about the small tiny games!
Yeah, if you consider head-exploding people with sudden amnesia realistic.

I don't like the fact that there is no feedback. I NEED my feedback!

That's a great idea.
Step 1:Learn to draw
Step 2:Make popular webcomice
Step 3:Make a comic with something slashdot finds funny or insightful
Step 4:???
Step 5:Profit!
From an average citizen's perspective I have got to say: Shame on you, this is dangerous and worse thing could have happened
From a nerd's perspective I have got to say: That is friggin awesome!!1!

They replaced everyones desktops with a picture of Xeno's paradox?
Well, it's better than the Diet of Worms.
I don't get it. Can you produce a deeply flawed car analogy instead so my sleep deprived understand it better?

Alcohol is addictive.
Cocaine on the other hand is not.
You do the math.
Ofcourse I won't. I wouldn't deny them the wonderful experience of highly addicting and dangerous drugs.
"Basically, Flash is a ubiquitous open-standard with mature development tools and tons of 3rd-party partners."
Yeah, that's exactly why linux has waited years before finally getting Flash 9. And to think that post is modded insightful.
Do not look into projector with remaining eye!

And let those stupid people elect our leaders.
