    Maybe you should read up on the facts. She was the passenger in a car... the driver pulled over so she could add stuff to her coffee, she took off the lid and it spilled on her. The issue was that the coffee is way hotter than it should have been, but she still should have been more careful.

    I wonder if they can change that statement to something like "NO BOTS ARE ALLOWED ON THIS SERVICE. IF YOU RUN ONE HERE YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO FINES OF UP TO $5,000,000 PER INCIDENT" and sue the hell out of NetPD...

    Never used hotmail, but I've had some rather good experiences with yahoo's free mail service.

    if they didn't learn all the times that the services say "DON'T GIVE YOUR PASSWORD OUT TO ANYONE", then maybe that will teach them a lesson.

    Well, this is just me making a guess, but hey, here goes.

    I'm sure that the palm has a lot more cpu power, but IMO this is like the whole Playstation 2 VS BigAssComputer debates. The game boy is made to play games on, palms are made to do a little bit of everything.

    If I'm not mistaken, one of the sites that you can preorder from (the only one I looked at..) says that it's due out in May 2000... so it should be any day now.

    I agree wholeheartedly... by their logic, DOS is full of bugs because it allows people who want to wreak havoc on other people's systems to do just that...

    This is basically the same thing, only instead of in-dash, it's like a portable cd-player. Definitely cool.

    oh, yeah, and it's only $200 too.

    If users are asked ``are you sure you want to run this?'' they click yes, never realizing what is about to hit them. If they know that they must save the file, start up another user agent, then run the file thru that agent, they are going to (magically) think twice about what they are doing.

    Sure, they may think twice, but really the only type of people to fall for something like this are the people who have absolutely no clue what they're doing anyways.

    So, say they got an e-mail with an attatchment saying that if they open it in the other program, they can play the newest version of Elf Bowling! Naturally, they get very excited (and not worried in the least, of course), and go into the other program... and voila... the problem is still there.

    How about MS Worms: Armageddon?

    I can picture it now... you could play as one of three different teams, Microsoft the Allmighty (whose special weapon would be the BSOD), The DOJ (with their anti-trust laws... be warned, though, they only affect the MS team!), and the (always the underdog) Linux team V2.4.6.2.23.4.234.1912.31!

    Hm, I'd kinda like to see Mr. Torvalds pointing a bazooka at Bill Gates...

    while writing DVD's is expensive and hard (and the MPAA doesn't want you to do it ;) )

    Maybe I should have been a little clearer... it's just that I've had some really nasty experiences with tape (video/audio/you name it), and assumed that those problems would also be present in this kind of tape...

    I'm assuming that this is where the "special" tape comes in, but how is the quality on this thing? I'm assuming that since it's on a video tape it can't be all that great, can it?

    Also, if it's any good, where can I get a MPEG video camera that records on this tape? =)

    For those who are interested, there are some people redoing some of Nobuo Uematsu's greatest works at kfssstudios.com... they have some samples there, and, IMO, they sound great.. only problem is that they still need a little funding...

    He did receive something like 19 separate moderations on that, which is probably still the record.

    actually, I believe some of the OOG posts have doubled (maybe tripled) that number.

    I see a lot of stuff that happened in Shadowrun's 'history' is starting to happen real life... working in direct neural interfaces, the forming of megacorporations (at least the government wasn't stupid enough to give them extraterritoriality (yet, *gulp*))

    I can't believe that these places were never inspected by the government for things like this... isn't there some agency in charge of this? and if there isn't, shouldn't there be?

    Another thing that gets me is that none of the workers brought this subject up to the government... you'd think that some of them would get worried...

    I know a good portion of you are anti-government-power, but this is one area where they should be allowed to regulate...
