Storage space is incredibly cheap nowadays. When you can get a 250GB hard drive for $109 (or, to be a little more reasonable, 60GB for $29), a HUGE amount of storage is really not much of a budget hit.
I think generally people have an idea of who they'd vote for, and even if they don't, they usually know which side shares more of their viewpoints. I don't think people are quite as clueless as a lot of you make them out to be.
Anyway, who says that the people who sit there watching TV all day are clueless anyway? They may just be really lazy. A commercial like this just might get a few extra people out to the booths.
Slightly more space? Did you even LOOK to see how big the Archos is? You can shove it in your pants pocket.
That's like saying, "Who would want to buy an iPod when you could get an old pentium 133 laptop for the same price and use it to do more than play MP3s!"
I agree. The Archos Jukebox has always been solid for me as well. The fact that you could replace the batteries with higher-capacity ones was great, and the rubber corners made it survive quite a few falls (although they ARE really ugly).
Had it a while, and only replaced it today because I found a killer deal on a Dell DJ - I wanted something a bit more elegant.
... and you are giving too much credit to home users. Honestly, how many typical Joe Users do you think can get ahold of an illegal copy of XP, let alone actually install it?
Of course, your "Ease of typing" argument gets completely reversed on you when you take into account the fact that you can use "ask.com" or even "aj.com" to get to Ask Jeeves.
What makes you think that once people migrate over to other platforms that spyware won't follow them?
It may be even worse then, since they'll think "oh, hey, I can run anything I want now that I can't get spyware and viruses!"
No, obviously it doesn't work. The corporations just love spending HUGE amounts of money on things that don't work.
... that this topic will be 95% filled with people complaining about Lucas.

Hey, at the very least it'll make entertaining TV.
Music used to be free, but then the Metallica bands came along with their business plans.
Yes, we all know that "metallica bands" were the first ones to charge for their music.
Overuse of acronyms degrade language, you know.
STFU.
From what I've read, it seems like he could be charged with extortion as well.
Considering that IE is still by far the most popular browser, if the "browser wars are over", Microsoft has won.
I don't know, I think the best ever (probably because it's so long) is:
HYUNDAI: Haven't Yet Understood Nothing's Durable And Inexpensive.
Maybe it doesn't apply as much nowadays, but it was great a few years ago.
Wait, you're saying that people actually take responsibility for their own security instead of blaming Microsoft for all their woes? BLASPHEMY.

Yeah, but you can't be entertain yourself with gas heating, unless you're a pyro and sit there watching the furnace all day.

In addition, people die every day in far more tragic ways, and we don't hear of any of those. Why is this news and those aren't?
Many are also unable to grasp sarcasm, and some any form of humor altogether. It's sad, really.
Yes, because open source is ALWAYS an option for EVERYONE, right?
You forget that dominant players start out as underdogs. Who says if AMD wins out, they won't just turn into Yet Another Huge Corporation?
I wonder, if we slashdot a server, does Peridot kick in while the server is down?
If you're having problems with rentals, get a better DVD player.
Very true. My PS2 shit itself when I was trying to play scratched DVDs, but a normal standalone DVD player played them just fine.
The biggest problem we face in going to alternative energy sources for cars is the fact that the non-internal-combustion engines sound like crap.
The noise of an old muscle car is enough to make me weep with joy.

If it's based on 802.11, does that mean that you'll be dropped from the game if your 2.4ghz cordless phone rings?
:/
This happened with my wireless network at home.
