IIRC, it was some sort of thing kinda like a version number. I don't really remember the details, but I think they went through a bunch of models and the X one was the one they stuck with. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyways, calling it a PS2 causes too much confusion and too many bad jokes.
Coincindentally, SquareSoft, who is arguably the best console developer out there, is missing from that list. One of the many, many reasons I'll be getting a PSX2 (I refuse to call it a PS2) instead of an x-box.
Among the other reasons is the fact that it has cool blue and green LEDs on it;)
Anyone thought about hacking the HackSDMI website? Maybe change the index file to something talking about the boycott and laying down the real reason that they want SDMI to become popular...
Of course, I'm just putting this out there as an idea... I don't condone it one bit! No siree!
Yeah, it's awesome. Only problem with it is it feels kinda cheap... but it's not. Everything works very well, and it's rather sturdy... I've dropped it quite a few times, as well as leaving it in a 120 degree car for many, many days... and it's still goin like nothings ever happened =)
Newsflash! This just in! After a decision by the courts last week to force America Online to open READY, experts say the same will be done with AIM.
One expert, Mr. Frank Furter, was quoted as saying, "They're holding a monopoly over all this IM business. We got them to open READY, AIM looks to be next... and we won't stop until we get them to open FIRE as well."
AOL employees were seen nearby loading their rifles and snickering evilly.
Just a thought here, instead of the games causing the children to be violent, did you ever stop to think that maybe it's because the children are violent in the first place that they want to play the games?
I suppose, since they already have an account from AmEx, that their name and address would be tied in there as well? Then people couldn't just guess a number and have it work.
So they can add some things that 1) makes more numbers available, and 2) makes them harder to make up... How about using number AND letters? Maybe symbols too.
If anything, Napster has the flaw of making people download the same few artists over and over again. Rather than having a DJ tie in similar artists by "feel" (like Nick Cave, the Cruxshadows, and Black 47, three compeletely different genres, but many of the same people like all three), Napster simply says: "Enter the artist you are searching for". Unless you know the artist, it dosen't help.
It does though. Say I really like song X. I type in song X into the search, and Napster gives me a list of the people who have it. Now, I download song X, but also shove the person on my "hot list" and look at what else they have... chances are that if they have song X, they'll have other songs that are like song X. Many times I've been pleased by random downloads off of people whose collections I've gone through like that.
Yes, we did.

If we as humans are rational enough to see beyond physical differences, why do we need clothes?
Warmth?

ARGH, now I'm going to have to buy TWO next-gen consoles. *grumble*

Oh yeah, Enix isn't there either.

Oh, and BTW, your comment is a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black

What kind of geek worth his salt is in bed at 6AM?
True geeks don't even think about going to bed until about 8... geez.

This would be easier (and cheaper). I'm very satisfied with mine.

Why spend 3 times as much when you can get an MP3/CD player for about $130? Works great, and you can use it just like any other portable CD player.

I say DiKote, a la Shadowrun (or Shadowrunner as Katz would call it). Sounds a lot cooler than "buckysheet" ;)
-- Dr. Eldarion --
Hmm, Ultrananocrystalline Diamond Film, huh? Does this remind anyone else of DiKote from ShadowRun?
-- Dr. Eldarion --
Why didn't they place the controls for such a device in a more obvious location?
Yeah, I know! Who'd have ever thought to look under SECURITY SETTINGS for something like that?! Geez! What we're they thinking?!
(cough)

Still, I understand that it's a *very* rare occurrence

Oh yeah, Shadowrun *would* have been a much better choice. (It's a much better game, IMO, as well)
Alas, I can't find anyone to play it with anymore... all my ShadowRun buds around here either moved or went of to college =(
