I agree. I enjoy seeing them get a taste of their own medicine as much as anyone, but this sets an awful precedent. Can we organize a virtual million man march and get the patent system fixed? (and by "we" I mean someone other than me. I'm too busy drinking soda in my mom's basement.)

I've got SLi and there are times when it's awesome... but the fact is you run into a lot of troubles with most games when they come out. Some games have only token SLi support at release. You have to wait for an update to see any real performance improvements. Sometimes you have to wait for new drivers too.

It's cool, but you need to realize that you may be waiting a few months after a game comes out before you can really take advantage of SLi while you're playing it.

Parents (if you can really call them that half the time) are most certainly the problem. They are the only people that have any real control over what their children do. Whether or not they choose to exercise it is up to them. Don't come crying to me when you let your kid watch every horror movie ever made and now he's having nightmares about zombies eating his brains while dudes in masks with chainsaws chop his limbs off. It's not the government's responsibility to prevent violent video games from existing. (As if outlawing anything ever prevented kids from doing it. Why don't you just put a neon sign over it saying, "hey kids, this looks fun doesn't it?")

Why bother with real security when the illusion of security gets you just as many votes?

The entire situation is idiotic anyway. 9/11 won't happen again because people aren't going to sit there while someone takes over a plane again. People let it happen then because it was always understood that you just got flown somewhere and probably ended up being ok.

There are other, far simpler, ways that terrorists can kill far more people. Think about it, even if you get a bomb on a plane that's probably only a couple hundred people. It's a huge risk and a lot of work without much return. 9/11 worked because the plane itself was the bomb; that's not an option anymore though. Terrorists aren't dumb. We like to think they are, but clearly, they aren't. The fact is, you will never be able to stop someone willing to commit suicide to kill others through security measures like this. Finding out about the plot beforehand is the only way. So this little charade I have to go through every time I fly only gets more and more annoying.

I selectively support only the small RIAA signed artists that I want to see actually get to tour. Unfortunately if you ever want to see them in person you have to play the idiotic RIAA game. That means buying their CD so that the label thinks they've got enough sales to justify a tour. I still buy indie as much as I can, and some of my faves are actually trying to revert back to indie status... but it's not easy.

I have no hard and fast numbers handy (too lazy to google). However, one of my favorite artists has publicly stated that he makes more in one 90 minute show than he would off of selling the equivalent of 10,000 CDs.

I do agree about checking out new music. I regularly Pandora or GrooveShark new bands that I hear about. If I like it, I buy it. It's actually led me to spend more on music than I did in the past. I still try to stick to indies when I can though.

I absolutely agree. I've spent years working with middle school and high school aged kids. Without a doubt, the kids with parents that don't believe in punishing them have zero self discipline. I honestly feel sorry for them. At times they know they're not making the right choice but they just don't have the discipline to do what they know they should.

People that pamper their children are doing them a disservice. Don't get me wrong - You should absolutely love and care for your kids, but part of that is teaching them some self control.

Actually, I happen to be a musician and I disagree. I don't support piracy and I don't want people stealing my stuff. However, I also despise the RIAA, what it's doing, and how it's doing it. I also hate to see due process get thrown under the bus for the sake of an aging business model. Touring has always made musicians truckloads more money than CDs ever have. CD sales are just used by huge record companies as a revenue stream for themselves and as an indicator telling them who to send on huge tours. Regardless of how you feel about piracy, RIAA's idiotic tactics are going to make people want to stop supporting musicians entirely.

It's not the least bit sexist to make a dell website filled with exploding zombies, scantily clad girls and power tools if it's aimed at guys. I'm not going to say I don't like those things, but it's so horribly stereotypical. I mean, maybe there's a guy out there that would prefer scantily clad zombies and exploding girls instead.
