    I am not a lawyer...but I am certain it is a legal issue. I seriously doubt the developers can "reverse engineer" several commercial/proprietary CODECs and release in binary format.

    The source code may be the closest thing to legit as they can get.

    Yes, there are about ~1000+ crocodiles in FL. However, the article has a picture of an alligator with electrical tape on it's head.

    Alligators have larger, fatter heads. While their crocodile kin have smaller, more narrow heads and longer (sometimes) mouths.

    Thats a picture of an alligator, with electrical tape on it's head.

    Please take notice that crocodiles have long, more narrower shaped heads. Alligators have bigger heads, and tend to be heavier.

    What if someone bypassed the EULA entirely (e.g. hacking the installer so that "I Decline" still continues).

    Since you've never agreed to the EULA in the first place, you're not disallowed from hacking it (consumer-unfriendly millennial laws not withstanding).

    Wouldn't that violate the DCMA? Circumventing and such?

    As a sysad, it shits me when people come up with 'cute' nonsensical names that have no consistency and aren't self explanatory. I mean, good software engineering principles dictate that you use meaningful variable names. Why not server names as well?

    Maybe I am just ignorant... But, why in the world do we even need an extra layer of complexity called the "electoral college"?

    I honestly do not see the need for it. Everyone casted their vote. They picked Obama. He is the next president.

    I can only justify the need for another round of voting, only if the average Joe's vote didn't count.

    Verizon Wireless (cell phone) does have the "secret cap", but Verizon FIOS (fiber to the home) does not.

    With my 15/15 FIOS connection, I've downloaded 375GB (8% utilization) and uploaded 1887GB (40% utilization) in the past month.

    My god, that is a *lot* of porn!

    Just to reiterate the above point, if you go the java route, then I'd recommend BlueJ. It is an IDE, of sorts that visually introduce the java programming language.

    I don't know that it is illegal, per se. But, I can see how it would open a company up to a liability or even a lawsuit, if one was so inclined to give a derogatory work reference.

    The few places that I have work, have a policy for such.

    I think these guys are the agency that made the ads. It was either FastCompany or INC magazine, they did a profile on this company. I think they are also behind those annoying Truth commercials.

    You are correct. A EULA is a EULA. If they want a tool to explain the license, then they should probably opt for a preamble.

    A very popular example would be the preamble to gpl2.

    I went to a job interview in '99 for a contract doing Network Admin for a pretty major bank; I had no certs, no degree at the time, but I had been working off and on with Tek systems for several years and they knew I had extremely extensive experience.

    First, I offer my sympathies to you for working with Tek Systems. I have never worked for a group of bigger, under-paying crooks, in my life.

    Second, in my opinion, the IT industry can be a very saturated thing. It is almost like _anyone_ can get an IT job. That being said, I support the tests, as a mechanism to keep riff raft in it's place.

    However, I can do without the babysitting.

    So nice try, EA. Good, but not good enough. Games have an aesthetic quality; a given game is totally unique and irreplaceable -- that's why we like them.

    How is this even considered a nice try? How is this considered good? It is not good. Its fucking pathetic.

    Not that I endorse it, but piracy exists for a reason. EA is just adding fuel to the fire, by treating their customers like they are crooks. As if the people that pay money, for this crap, can not be trusted.

    That's already been fixed in the Chromium codebase, r1677, but the latest download seems to be r1583. If I were the Chrome team, I'd be in more of a hurry to get this particular fix out there.
