I didn't RTFA (don't forget this is/.), but from the summary's tone one wonders if this is something mainly intended to get the anti-government folks riled up.
I have to wonder if it/will/ happen if the GOP's in charge. Knowing those folks, they'll cut taxes for the rich and subsidize it with borrowing from the Chinese.
EGA Trek is still fun to play. You should look for the old 2.x versions that still feature Star Trek races instead of made-up ones (yay lawyers). I also still like to play Begin2 from time to time.
Why yes, I/did/ play "classical" Star Trek games on my Apple//c and DOS machine back in the day, and I even sometimes fire up the one that comes in the bsdgames package.
is so that old handwritten things like diaries and letters are still able to be read.
I haven't used cursive probably since sixth grade or so, and I'm 30. My print is much easier to read, and since I've been a computer weenie for most of my life I usually type long papers, negating cursive's alleged speed benefit.
Don't be fucking retarded. Do you really think we can trust a jury to understand the full ramifications of the First Amendment if someone they find personally obnoxious is being tried for spreading his message?
No kidding. My wife was selected for the Missouri jury pool last month. Her compensation (per day) was a little over $20. This is well below minimum wage, and for those people who live paycheck-to-paycheck missing even one or two days of work is a hugely unfair burden.
I understand my civic responsibilities, the social contract, etc., but I think this makes a strong case for civil disobedience until jurors get fairly compensated for their time.
...if you have a law degree. Have you read the dense legalese in many laws these days? Also bills are distributed as patches, so it's non-trivial to understand exactly what a given bill will do, when it says things like "strikes 'an octopus' in section A subparagraph 153".
Mods: not funny. I've formatted large USB sticks as NTFS before. Works fine for r/w on Linux and Windows, not so much for Macs, because OSX doesn't have native write support for NTFS.
Are you kidding? The author's probably convinced he's still right, and weeps for the wonders we'd have had if only the government had left Ma Bell alone.
Maybe not, but you'd think that from the political atmosphere in this country.
Ah, Youtube. It's the place that makes all but the stupidest Slashdot comments look intelligent.

More like "open as in Goatse", am I right?
It'll protect the computer from mind-control rays as well.

This would be a pretty good troll posting. Nicely done, if so.
Better see a therapist, too.
That's an excellent explanation. I've saved that to a text file to refer to later.
Hush, you're interrupting our fifteen-minute hate.
It'd be interesting where this falls under European "fitness for purpose" laws.
Native, as in I can toss a stick over to a Mac-loving coworker and expect it to work without intervention.
If Apple includes ntfs-3g in OSX 10.7, that's different.

You assume the submitter read the article?
Heh, I can imagine one of the lard-asses on the Wal-Mart electric carts using this kind of thing instead to move his 600-lb bulk.
Colleges are generally more relaxed about these things than corporations.
Also magnetic cock rings.
Great, but isn't most stuff that uses XLR connectors professional-grade? That means spending a good bit more on speakers and stereo.
Ferrite cores. If you put them on the wires picking up the signal, it's supposed to stop the pickup.
OMG!!! PONIES!!!
