Fail. You should be installing from an install disc with SP3 slip-streamed in. If you couldn't do that, install with the SP1 disc then download the SP3 redistributable while you're installing from disc. No need to use windows update to go through SP1,2,and 3.
It's not the same as yelling fire in a theater because while fire in a theater is a real threat, a low flying airplane is not. You may think it is, but that's just because you've been believing everything they say on TV again.
Fuck you. You're at the front lines in this war on terror and you just lost us the battle. I forgive you for being afraid, that's a common emotion in combat. Unfortunately I have no sympathy for cowards that high tail it at the first sign of danger. You sir, are a traitor. I can call you a traitor because by giving in to your fear you are sympathizing with the enemy. We must not give in to the terrorists wishes. We must show no fear for we are stronger than them. We can only win this war by demonstrating to terrorists we are not afraid of them.
Withholding source code is exactly what the GPL is trying to prevent. The GPL is there to ensure that the source code is always available with a distribution and it needs copyright laws to enforce that restriction. Some form of copyright law is necessary but it's been mutilated into a welfare system for corporations.
"Ignorance of the law is not an excuse" made sense when all the laws were able to fit on a few tablets in the town square. However at the current level of complexity I don't think anyone understands the law completely. Everything is open to interpretation not to mention the laws themselves are vague and contradictory. It's like web developers bitching about browsers not following the standards. Even WebKit, one of the best rendering engines available doesn't follow the standards 100% because the standards are incomplete and inconsistent. Considering web standards are considerably simpler than the law, I can't understand why ignorance of the law isn't a valid excuse.
The MMPI is already useless. It's not admissible as evidence in the court of law (in the US AFAIK) which should tell you something. TV has portrayed it as infallible but we all know how accurate TV is to real life. The sooner people stop considering it a valid test the better.
What about RRDtool? It's more designed to be used for graphing time based metrics but you could probably use it for other stuff. It's very lightweight and uses a flat file.
I think the big glasses thing started off because when you saw celebrities shopping they were always wearing big glasses in an attempt to blend in with the general public. So girls wearing big glasses are trying to look famous.
I'm not sure why you're picking this apart, it's very simple. He was a police investigator working on the PB case and now he's an employee of WB. That's all the information you need to realize that the situation is pretty shady and needs more investigation. They're hyping it up a little sure, but I would agree this guy needs a little public pressure to figure out just what is going on.
It doesn't matter that he is no longer a PI. It would certainly help the PB's case if they could prove that he was in fact employed by both at the same time but they don't need to. Nice cushy jobs are often used as under the table bribes.
Finally I'm not sure why you're attacking their writing, they are not journalists. And as far as competent lawyers go the PB seem to have the legal aspect figured out pretty well.
Jim Keyzer has had a leading role in the prosecution against The Pirate Bay as head of the preliminary investigation. In the
upcoming trial he is expected to be a key witness and due to being a police investigator to have high credibility.
Keyzer was also heading an investigation where The Pirate Bay sued some of the mayor media corporations for data trespassing.
That case was recently cancelled by him.
It does not matter if he is being "overpaid" for his work at WB, it matters that he is being paid by them at all.
Don't get too worked up, this guy is just a professional troll. I kept running into these posts that were wrong and I'd quickly jump to correct them but I started noticing that they were all from sm62704. I have to hand it to him, they got me the first few times, now I keep an eye out when I have mod points so I can mod his posts correctly.
Ok so I don't know my plastic history. In any case plastic has come a long way since 1968 and I still don't think we have something that would be a good replacement for traditional road materials. We might but if there is I've never heard of it.
His predictions were from a time where plastics were just being introduced and they were seen as a miracle material that could be used for everything. Now we realize that they aren't perfect for everything though they do come close. A plastic road could be as rough or as smooth as we want it. During the production process a pattern could be imprinted to give cars better traction in wet weather. A truly smooth road would be ideal in dry conditions but people will want to drive when it's raining too so a texture has to be added.
The reason we haven't seen plastic roads yet is probably cost and longevity. Roads are enormously expensive as it is and a plastic road would just cost too much. Another reason is that there honestly might not be a hard enough plastic to do the job. Roads take a beating by trucks and if concrete and stone roads don't last forever I'd have a hard time imagining a plastic road would do much better. It's just like how the Grand Canyon was formed, slight pressure applied continuously for long enough can have a significant effect.
He said "smooth", not "frictionless". A newly paved blacktop road is very smooth but people can stop and start just fine. A smooth plastic road that never wore down would be a fantastic improvement over current roads. BTW there are plenty of car stereos that don't have cd players, they still make tape decks, radio only, and even hard drive based systems.
Satellite radio is not as touchy as satellite tv is, it doesn't go out when it's cloudy. It's never gone out in my car except when it's blocked by a solid object, even huge thunderstorms or blizzards can't stop it. Trees by themselves have never caused a problem. In any case I spend way less time hearing static than what I used to with terrestrial radio. The other major benefit is that all the stations are available everywhere. No more tuning to a new station every 100 miles on long road trips, no more searching for a good station in a new town. You really don't realize how bad FM sucks until you don't have to deal with it anymore.
CD's are OK but you always have to rotate the collection in your car, choose what song to play next, it just takes too much effort. The worst part of CD's though is that you can't discover new music while in the car which is a huge waste because that's when I do the most listening.
I can also see colors in DLP projectors and TVs if I move my eyes quickly enough. That's nothing special, almost everybody can see that, it's called the Rainbow Effect and only shows up in single chip DLP projectors. For some people it's more of a problem than others but everyone can see it if they're told what to look for.

But this is HDTV. It's got better resolution than the real world.

In short, fuck you New Yorkers.
+1 Unabomber

Top Gear is not Consumer Reports. It's a car show for people who like cars. And get your damn Prius out of my way.
Those facts are a strawman. Why I should care how much the candidates have donated to charity?
"Jesus Christ, man! There's just some things you don't talk about in public!"
You're right, look at the center of the billboard in this picture. It shows it transforming from upright to laying down forward.
I'd agree with this, "I had to lay it down" is just the excuse used by people who've crashed and don't want to look like the bad rider they are.

Great idea, anything you would like me to say?

Did you read the PB press release?

For some religions the moral code is actually 'Do no intentional harm to others that have the same beliefs'. That's when things start to get sticky.
